NOPE NOPE NOPE He is developing I LOVED That he kept shooting because they usually fall - so I have no issue, sometimes they just don't go in, they were all GREAT opportunities and looks though. Same for Jabari..... DD
I think it's going to be hard to find an offer for Sengun that will convince this front office to pull the trigger. You never know, maybe something will pop up that just makes great sense for us and some other team, I'm just having a hard time imagining what that would be right now. You know I'm 100% onboard with trading KD this offseason. At this point I would take just getting back into first round of the 2026 draft plus some expiring money or some mixture of expiring + bad money.
Most of his 3s were open, you take those every time. Statistically it makes no sense for a good shooter that is close to 40% on 3 to take midrange instead. if some contested I agree with you. bad shooting nights happen
My very low probability KD trade partner, that I’ll only whisper: KD + DFS to Golden State for Jimmy Butler’s expiring + their late lotto 2026 pick + some future FRP. I know, Rockets fans would probably murder Stone. Probably me too for putting it out there. But KD actually has left the door pretty open to GSW if you listen to his comments, and they have the assets and expirings. I could see a Steph/LeBron/KD/Kerr team up for one last ride. The league would absolutely love the attention and revenue. And sets us up with a lotto prospect this year and cap space in summer 2027.
First thought that came to mind was we should really hire someone for that. Moreover, people disparaging Alpi last night are simply Alpi Derangement Syndrome. He gave you peak Jokic last night - not baby, not mini, peak Jokic. If you find yourself crying about Alpi in this game then it’s tough to take your opinion seriously. And ironically before he was exhausted - during the critical comeback late 3rd/early 4th - his rotations and rim protection were excellent. He got away w a few fouls but otherwise he was outstanding.
I agree with everything you said. I don’t think we would get a 26 pick for Durant and maybe not a first round pick at all. As great as he still is, finding expirings and a team that sees him as a guy to get them over the hump is challenging enough. If we are willing to take back an albatross contract like say Paul George, we might get a couple of really good picks from Maury (they don’t have a 26).
That could work. Jimmy may still be able to play too, if we didn't just buy him out. Not sure which would be better for us. The other one I thought about was to the Heat for Wiggins + Mitchell + their 2026 mid-first rounder. That would at least set us up with some solid roleplayers to replace KD's production.
Our shooters not being able to athlete is as big of a problem as our athletes not being able to shoot.
I mean looking how rockets came back, was just lack of defense, this was one of those let it roll who can outscore you. Problem is they have better shooters. Defense still wins games. I dont know what anymore why these teams dont play defense anymore. When the playoffs come here hoping the defense is there, but heck these next few games are important, there gonna wind up playing spurs on the road as 7th seed if they dont watch out.
I thought of that, but didn’t realize Durant would be willing. I’d do this trade in a hot second even without the future frp. Hell might even do it straight up to get off of DFS’ contract and getting off of Durant’s 3rd year. Jimmy could play SF until he got hurt or flip him and picks for a younger guy that fits better. After Durant did them wrong last year, I’m not sure that boat hasn’t sailed.
Him taking 3’s was just fine. He might’ve heated up at any time. I was disappointed with how the Rockets reverted to Amen and Sheppard handing the ball off to Durant and Sengun in the first quarter rather than running plays for Amen early and Sheppard later. This team should be focusing on Amen and Reed’s synergy on offense and Durant playing off ball. We wouldn’t have won this game, because of poor effort early and terrible 3 point shooting, but we need to stick to the offense we played against Atlanta and Chicago the rest of the year, even when it isn’t working as well. “This is not our year”, so develop our backcourt!
This is a good thought. I might do it even without the FRP which I think would kill the trade for Riley. He’s a pretty smart guy and if we are trading Durant, he knows we are desperate to get of him. Wiggins is actually a better fit for this team than Durant, although not nearly as good a scorer.
Imagine watching last night's game and blaming the loss on Sengun or KD. The Sengun Derangement Syndrome is real ya'll!
