I wasn't clear, my fault. I'm saying they added Moreau and I think they will add a TE in the draft that can block.
A number of folks here give me crap for sharing PFF grades when evaluating players. Some of those same folks become orgasmic because a player had a good workout. I grade them on what they did in games.
McShay has the Texans taking Kayden McDonald in his latest mock. He has Kenyon Sadiq at 14 to Baltimore
If the Texans take a DT in the first round it will most likely be Woods. McDonald would be a lot of fun though. 3 technique DT that I could see the Texans being very interested in are.. Peter Woods Clemson Rayshaun Benny Michigan Aaron Graves Iowa Kaleb Proctor SE Louisiana Cam Rice Maryland Jeffrey M'Ba SMU Anterio Thompson Washington Clayton Patterson Stanford
FYI, In McShays draft DT Peter Woods fell to pick 41. Texans picked WR Denzel Boston at 39. And then RB Jadarian Price at 59. I don't see this draft being very realistic as Denzel Boston should go in the 1st round and Price early in the 2nd round. Your not going to get a realistic Mock Draft from anyone 1 month from the actual draft. This is just running odd scenarios until the actual draft. A couple of days from the actual draft they will put a serious Mock Draft together not on what they believe each team should do, but instead on inside information that they have received in the final days.
Id add Jordan van den Berg (@jch1911) and Skyler Gill-Howard to that list. If he is there at 28 I think they go Woods.
Woods pro day really soured me.... Caleb Banks (injuries!?!) or Van den Burg (ssshhhhh... although the secret is out now) for me
Based on the roster it seems likely that we take a DT at 28. Woods scares me. He apparently didn't dominate in the ACC and that concerns me greatly. I definitely prefer McDonald, if he's available.
I do not want Woods OR Bisontis... that would be a semi-tragedy for me (Kenyon Green level).. neither of those guys screams SWARM to me. Bisontis is DEF not a Waltzing Rhino
A lot of the Defensive tackles that are the top of the prospect rankings are massive double team eaters. The leaner quicker penetrators are more to the bottom of the rankings. The 49ers tried to go bigger last year with Collins and West (1 techniques) and they did not do well. Jeffrey M'Ba from SMU is 6'6 and about 310 pounds and would fit the mold. He had 5 sacks and 42 tackles last year. He will get you a lot of passes deflected as well. Anterio Thompson from the University of Washington had a awesome Pro Day. At 6'4 and 306 lbs he ran a 4.79 40. Benched 225 30 reps. On tape, you can see his explosion coming off the line of scrimmage. Kaleb Proctor from SE Louisiana is a physical freak. He has a raw athletic score of 9.11 and tore up the Combine.
You also have to take into account how their teams used them when looking at their stats. Example: Delp was used mainlt as a blocking TE, so his numbers wont show how good he is at catching the ball, making plays etc....
