This is one the better MAGA descriptions one could share. MAGA and Trump are so imbedded in communities that people refuse to ever acknowledge facts that contradict their positions on nearly everything because of fear of rejections within those communities. My wife’s family lives out in one of those communities between Houston and San Antonio and we have to go to events every once in awhile. You would not believe the peer pressure to the MAGA that is all around you all the time. There is almost an institutionalized aggressiveness with the brand. If I was ever to tell someone at the church picnic that I voted for Kamala and Biden, everything around me would cease to exist and they’d look at me as if I’m an alien. The big out too when you engage in debate is the claim ignorance when you cite data and facts that destroy their claims. My response to that is to say that I don’t understand why people have the most passion for their positions that they openly state they actually know nothing about. They get pretty quiet and suddenly realize they need to go check on someone shortly after. I try to avoid those debates and mostly just let them be because I know I’ll never get anywhere. They say and do the things they do regarding their maga identity because that’s their friends and family. It’s their community. The fear more than anything losing that community, those relationships, and their small town way of life. They fear that if they change they’ll have to move to Austin or heaven forbid the hell scape that is California and have to dye their hair pink, and listen to Indigo Girls. What you described in your meme is way deeper than you think. It’s a pretty accurate way of showing why maga identity is so unshakable in this country when facts and reality are contradictory and self defeating. It’s about fear.
And yes this fear of rejection of community could in theory apply to any group. However we are talking about a singular identity that currently holds the power of the US presidency and affects the entire world. It’s so important to this 40% of Americans that they would rather support a Middle East war that’ll kill thousands including innocent school girls, and cause major inflation to the economy that’ll cost them money they do not have than give up their community identity because of the fear of repercussions of no longer being accepted among their friends and family.

I don't feel the need to be outraged about that because I don't need trump to define my moral compass. My kids and wife have a present father and active husband so none of us feel the need to idolize politicians or what he allegedly did as a private businessman (Clinton SA'd women as an active president and you voted for the wife that tried to silence his victims). He serves a purpose and that's solid policy while calling out the bad actors of the left. Whoever needs to be prosecuted should. We see policies throughout the democrat establishment aimed at normalizing being sexually attracted to prepubescent children and seemingly every other liberal teacher arrested for grooming.
