Jordan is never healthy, you cant rely on him. What I hope doesn't happen is they think Stover can be the blocking TE.
Ty Simpson could be the best quarterback in the draft. It’s odd how long it’s taken for another Simpson to be a well-known player in the NFL. It’s a relatively common surname. I wonder if a lot of Simpson parents in the last three decades have pushed their boys away from football.
I believe Lachey has the potential to be a decent blocker after a year in our strength and conditioning program. His dad was 3-time All-Pro OL, some its in his DNA. We'll see if he's gotten stronger in OTAs/Training Camp. Still believe we need to add a rookie to compete though.
Hidden gem: DE Michael Heldman, Central Michigan (had an insane pro day for a player his size) Could possibly be had as an UDFA https://steelersdepot.com/2026/03/2...report-central-michigan-edge-michael-heldman/ https://ras.football/ras-information/?PlayerID=31132&ovl=Central+Michigan
- 1.22 career yards per route ran - 16.7% career contested catch rate - Limited receiving production and never topped 300 yards in any one season - Only 1 touchdown in 2025
I want weapons that create mismatches. Three guys I like that will be available in the 3rd round and later are Trigg, Stribling, and Randall. I've already talked about Trigg and Randall. Stribling is 6'2" 207 and ran a 4.36... Will Fuller ran a 4.32 and was 2 inches shorter and 20 pounds lighter. Stribling is a deep threat and can get separation off the line for short routes. He's also explosive after the catch if he has any room, and a strong run blocker. I'd like to see him line up with Nico on the field. Let them roll coverage towards Nico and have Stribling burn them down the field. He should be available day 3.
