I’m hoping the Coog pressure stifles Illinois. If they swing it around and make the extra pass, they have good shooters. Could be a problem. I think the Coogs win by at least 8. Of course Illinois could get hot. We’ll see oh and for the love of god please stop with the bricks
UH should take care of Illinois. Our guards have a big edge, and while the Illioni are strong w/size in the front court, we have size AND athleticism there. The Coogs are young. That's our only weakness. If our kids can play with consistency, the nets should come down in Indy.
I was at the Nebraska alumni bar in DC last night for the Coogs game and ended up staying for Nebraska vs Vandy. These people are insane. When that prayer rimmed out I thought the roof was going to cave in.
UH, Florida and Illinois are 4, 5 and 6 in the KenPom Rankings. Illinois is the 2nd ranked offense but 24th ranked defense. Florida is 9th and 6th. UH 11th and 4th.
It was really, really easy to hate UT as a UH fan during the post SWC dry years. 1995 to 2015 let's say. But after we made the NY6, Sampson turned us into tournament regulars, and the Big 12 checks started clearing, the sting has worn off. It bugs me now when UH people have a UT allergy. It's like, dude, who gives a ****? UT means nothing to me now. Why give that any time or energy when you have your own program that deserves ALL of your focus now?
Lowe, Dawes (very high chance), Punch and Haggerty all want to come to UH and a little birdie told me that a good chance at least two of those are playing in Houston in 2027.
UH is better and will win if they play at a normal level. Illinois has a lot of length with their Eastern Europeans. They are inconsistent from the perimeter, but dangerous when they hit their 3’s.
Three bomber teams are the ones I fear the most. No amount of defense can stop a shooter who is on. I actually picked us to lose this game in my bracket. I just don't think we have it this year. I hope I'm wrong and Kingston or Cenac just go off and carry us. But I'm not counting on it.
Tomislav Ivišić? Zvonimir Ivišić? Mihailo Petrović? David Mirković? Andrej Stojaković? Look, my favorite athlete ever was a foreign-born recruit to UH, but I think this is too many for one team. I’ll be calling the NCAA offices on Monday morning.
