Irrational that Paredes doesn’t have a spot on day 1. Irrational that you agree with it. Now please joke about my wife some more because that is really rational for baseball talk. It’s just an opinion. Don’t get so butt hurt.
I guess our outfield will start with Cam, Meyers, Loperfido. I would hoping the keep Cole as their 4th outfielder and platoon him in regularly since he can play all 3 outfield positions . They can sub him in as a pinch hitter when they need an RBI or walk, pinch runner when they need to advance on the bases, or as defensive sub if they need someone to throwdown a runner attempting to go home. Brice could also do a lot of these things.
Yeah, I get it’s just an opinion…one that you’ve shared at least three times here in the last month or so. Everyone is well aware you don’t like Correa. Sounds like you’re the one that is “butt hurt”…
Correa fanboys now saying I don’t like Correa, even though I clearly stated the opposite. I just think he supplanted a better hitter. At least according to current trends. This team needs every edge on offense. Fanboys feelings be damned.
What stats? I literally just showed you the stats where you’re wrong and all you said was “that’s irrational” and made a joke about how he was going to get hurt. You sound like Dusty Baker. This entire thing is a non issue when considering Yordan can play LF and Paredes DH. With how bad our OF is, I’ll be absolutely shocked if Yordan isn’t out there often at MMP. Paredes is going to be in the lineup 140+ games.
Glad I’m spending all day in an a look at their numbers last year. Paredes was an all star for a reason. Like Charlie P. said…. Not having Paredes in the everyday lineup is “silly”.
Why are you assuming he’s not going to be in the lineup every day? If the offense is struggling and we are losing while he’s on the bench then we have much larger issues going on here…
Charlie P. also said he thinks that Paredes is the best of the Correa, Walker, Paredes trio. this is a money thing, not an ability thing.
There’s not even a log jam if you just put Yordan’s ass out in LF. Who cares if it’s a risk of injury if we’re going to suck offensively. If we aren’t sucking offensively, then again this isn’t even an issue because we will be winning. You’ve already established Correa is injury prone. We know Yordan is. Pena is already hurt. Walker and Altuve are old. So in what world is Paredes going to be on the bench regularly?
Yeah let’s see about that when he’s being forced to play Walker and his job is on the line because the offense is straight ass. There’s a chance Cam is good but anyone who think it’s a greater than 30% chance that Cole or Loperfido are good is lying. It’s a very high chance both of them suck.
I agree with this, but Loperfifo, Cole, Matthews or Meyers needs to be the guy sitting to get him into the lineup, not Walker, Altuve, Correa, Pena, or Yordan.
That last outing for Lambert was very likely what cost him his job. My current projection for opening day: 2B Altuve DH Paredes LF Alvarez 3B Correa SS Pena 1B Walker C Diaz RF Smith CF Meyers Bench: Matthews, Vasquez, Loperfido, Allen SP: Brown, Imai, Burrows, Javier, McCullers, Arrighetti RP: Abreu, King, Okert, Munoz, Roa, De Los Santos, Weiss IL: Blanco, Hader, Walter, Wesneski, Pearson, Sousa Optioned: Alexander, Blubaugh, Gordon, Murray, Teng, Ullola, Cole, Dezenzo, Whitcomb DFA: Salazar If De Los Santos is not back by opening day then I think Blubaugh will take his place.
I am hoping Cole would make the team but him spending more time in AAA is not a bad thing. He will be called up again this year. Matthews deserves his shot but I’m hoping they give him a ton of at PAs.
