I love Paredes at Daiken but there is a reason he is on his 4th team before even qualifying for free agency.

He is a perfectly solid third baseman but doesn't have Correa's range, arm, or baseball I.Q.

He is the 3rd-5th best player on a contending team.

I hope Paredes starts over 120 games between 1B, 2B, 3B, and DH and hits 25+ HR but if he is the 1st or 2nd best player in 2026 this team is going nowhere.

Actually Paredes has a great baseball IQ and he isn’t a loud mouth. Paredes puts together the best at bats on the team.

If Correa is the 2nd best hitter they are going nowhere.

Probably won’t play enough. He will have his nagging injuries.

Hey Correa fan boys, I hope he has a great year. I’m just very skeptical, but I do hope he is all that you want or think he will be.

That cringy World Series proposal? Look, Correa is a good player, but he cares more about himself than the team.

He just sticks up for teammates when he can. And when the whole world was hating on the Astros and especially Altuve. He basically told Bellinger and the world to **** off. Yeah he sucks.

Speaking about Correa... saw this article today, good Lord. Glad everything ended up ok for him and his son. That's scary.

I’m glad he did that, but you can’t deny that he loves himself a little too much. I never said “he sucks”.

True. However, I thought it sucked how he said early in ST that there was a log jam in the infield and hinting that the Astros need to trade someone away. Moreover, saying he really only wants to play 3rd. It seemed like he wants Paredes gone and was going public with it without saying his name.

But my biggest reason for annoyance is that I just don’t know if he’s capable of having more impact than Paredes at the hot corner and we really need offense. I love Paredes’ approach to hitting and I want him in the lineup everyday and at his best position. If it turns out being 1B I’m good with that but I just don’t see Joe benching Walker. I do not like the idea of uprooting Paredes from his best position and playing him all over the field as a backup. I feel like he earned his starting spot. Plus, I wonder about Correa bullying the weak minded Espada into putting him where he wants. If Correa produces, then I guess everything will work out. Perhaps Paredes has a setback year. Who knows? We shall see.

I certainly want Correa to do well and be healthy all season, just like Paredes.

Man some of you guys have an over inflated idea of who Carlos Correa is as a player these days...ask any Twins fan..or watch back the ALDS series the Astros played against the Twins a couple of years ago…absolutely futile and he’s only gotten older. Keep drinking that nostalgia kool-aid I guess...

Other than a solid fielder and a solid hitter?

He's no Chas or Diaz, I know. Dusty Baker obviously ruined him.

Nobody ever said Dusty ruined those guys or any player. He only ruined the 2023 postseason.

It was a joke lol…I’m just wondering why you’ve been an irrational hater since the day we made the trade. Literally nothing you have said makes me believe you “like Correa just fine”.

If you want to question his ability to stay healthy, that’s valid, but for also the millionth time…he was on a 4+ WAR pace for us last year. That’s more than Paredes. He had a .900 OPS in 86 games in 2024…also something Paredes has never done.

Nothing you’ve said about Correa has been rational. Just seems like for some reason you dislike him whereas for guys that like Chas and Yainer you’re on the opposite end of the spectrum.

I find this post to be irrational. 86 games is probably about right though.

Well that’s good to hear as that probably means it’s very rational then.

If that’s your opinion, you shouldn’t be on here crying about Paredes not having a spot. According to you he will have plenty of playing time then when Correa is hurt.
