I thought that was Paredes's job?

Putting on an outfielders glove appears to be kryptonite to Paredes.

Did he set the franchise record for strikeout percentage last season?

Brice Matthews deserves to play everyday.

The Astros having 5 starting IFs for four positions will already make the daily lineup card interesting.

No idea, he may have - but he won’t hold the mark long if Cole makes the club.

Brice can play the outfield well. No idea what the future holds but he has had a good Spring and done a number of things well enough… which is more than can be said about most guys that swing a bat.

Sucks what they’ve done to Paredes.

    He’s our best 3rd baseman.

I know someone will say Correa is so much better defensively, but he’s not.

    and certainly not offensively

You have weird takes but this take is the weirdest since there are no numbers that show Paredes is better than Correa especially defensively.

Cool. I think you have weird takes.

first, show me where I said Paredes was better defensively.

The eye test for me says that Correa and Paredes are both just above average offensively and defensively at 3rd. Paredes is still young enough to make a leap offensively and Correa could still put together an all star campaign.

I don't really care how Paredes does at 3rd. Walker appears to be going full Abreu turtle mode and Paredes should be at 1st. Walker can ride the pine.

it doesn't really matter though until Pena comes back.

I agree but Walker will start every game.

    Espada the players coach

Espada is on the last year of his contract.

    Hopefully, self-preservation shapes his behavior.

Paredes put together an all star campaign last year despite being hurt. The eye test and the stats show he's well above average offensively.

No telling what we are gonna get with Correa. There's a chance he puts up a 0.900 OPS superstar season like he did in 2024. I'd be happy if he extrapolated what he did with us last season. 0.785 OPS with above average 3B defense. He made a point to show patience to see a lot of pitches and had a pretty good OBP. Having him and Paredes doing that in the same lineup could be pretty sweet.

This is like the third time you’ve made this same Paredes and Correa comment. Did Correa **** your wife or something? Genuinely curious why you clearly dislike Correa? You’ve been negative about him since the day we traded for him back.

As someone else already said, the real issue is going to be Walker.

lol. Did Correa **** my wife? Calm down bro. I promise I will lay off your boy. Didn’t mean to touch a nerve.

I like Correa just fine. He’s just not our best option at 3rd. Espada ain’t benching Walker.
