Would Indy do that? Feel like Amen would be a great fit in Indy next to Hali and that gives us a shot at Darryn Peterson, Dybantsa, or Boozer.

Do you pull the trigger if they offer? Why or why not? Too risky?

    Sure, why not.

Get rid of a guy who's looking for a huge payday that can't shoot in exchange for a shot at a franchise guy.

The worst that can happen is failure .... it's happened before.

All day and twice on Sunday.

What if indy’s pick isn’t top 4? They only own it if it’s top 4 or 9+ i believe, clips have the middle

Yep. Would trade Sengun for a top 3 also. They need a franchise guy and this team doesn't have one.

Don’t trade Amen. It’s our GM’s job to find a young star without giving up Amen. We have a lot of assets. It can be done. Go do it!

After like 6-7 years of watching this rebuild it would probably be e the dagger in the heart. Amen & Jabari probably only ones I’m holding onto until we see where that Nets 27’ lands

I think we need to realize that harsh reality that we didn't find a franchise guy and we have to keep looking.

We did find several rotation players .... but no star.

If you can get value, do it.

Another bite at the superstar apple is more than fair value for Amen.

Superstars leave broken franchises, until we know what goes on with Patrick, Stone and his mini Front Office.....

I think Stone punting a whole season is not coincidence, he is a weak man, I doubt that was his idea alone.

The fact that he is not even used as a fall guy tells us that Fertitta does not really care, he is faking this Phase 3 just to get ticket sales.

If you don't trust me, look over to Denver, they fired their GM Calvin Booth who was not even that terrible on the spot.....and they fired Malone who just won the Championship.....that is how serious they are about winning it all with Joker.

Leslie Alexander for all his faults, he was passionate about his team....he fired people.

The Indy pick has a 14% chance of being #1, 27% chance of being top 2, 40% chance of being top 3, and 52% chance of being top 4.

My calculus is I'd take Dybantsa or Boozer over Amen right now, but I'd be a lot more hesitant past those two guys. It's hard to say with any degree of certainty that Peterson or Flemings will be a better overall player than Amen, IMO. So since there's a 73% chance the pick ends up in the 3-5 range... my vote right now is no.

Ask me again if they land in the top 2 come draft lottery night.

If that pick lands in the top 2 no way Indiana does a deal like that.

I agree, which is why this hypothetical would never happen. Indy wouldn't risk trading away Dybantsa or Boozer to potentially watch them become superstars/face of the NBA type players. Ditto for the Rockets and trading away Amen for anything less than a near-guaranteed young star, for the same reason. These kinds of moves get you fired as a GM. Too risky.

Les never once spent into the luxury tax.

Fertitta let them spend into it this year - with a FVV blown ACL. They didn't duck the tax at the deadline either - they easily could have but I think they believe it's the cost of being competitive next year.

Have some patience, Rome wasn't built in a day.

Les' net worth was like 1 billion or less......he was at the bottom or at least 26th of all owners.....

I was bamboozled by this, how he could own a team on his own that long with basically being a tad richer than Lebron James......

I think Kim Kardashian might be wealthier. I guess why Les stole the trophy or what that news was......

I'm not sure the top prospects in the 2026 class are as good as they were made out to be before the start of the college season. None of the main 3 (Dybantsa, Peterson, Boozer) set the world on fire, and it also doesn't seem like they have that clear generational franchise player-like talent. They're good players, don't get me wrong, but players like Cade, and obviously Cooper Flagg seemed much better coming into the draft. Boozer, for one, seems to have a hard time getting separation at the college level, but does have high IQ. Peterson has been a bit injury prone all year and wasn't as consistent as you'd want a supposed clear cut star to be. I still think Amen has more potential than this year's top 3 prospects, and this despite some struggles from Amen this season and his age relative to those prospects.

I'd rather just stay the course with our young guys and take another crack during the 2027 draft with the draft picks that we'll have, instead of trying to make some drastic player personnel move right now. The only changes that need to be made are in the front office/coaching level, and maybe getting rid of Dickerson, but I think the Dickerson issue can potentially be remedied with a new coaching staff.

Just can’t get any dumber than to continue trading assets that are deflated by Ime Udoka’s offense.

No more major moves until Ime Udoka wins 2 series or is fired.
