Well, if you're wondering how much I love the B10 I picked tOSU, Nebraska and Wisconsin all to lose this morning...full results pending, but Nebraska looks like the team that won their first 20ish games. Frogs-Buckeyes is a great game
My absolute favorite March Madness thing about High Point's win: HP is down 1 in the last ~20 seconds, they get a defensive rebound and chuck it to the streaking guard for a layup with 11 seconds left. Game winner. That was the first 2-point basket he made all season: 64-132 from 3, 0-4 from 2
Siena has entered TSU vs Arkansas 1995 ground for me…that’s sacred space. Jeff Granger territory This is the first tournament since my Dad passed Grateful to get to have lunch today with my older son (who coaches hoops for a living and took off today and tomorrow to watch the tourney!!! - clearly my kid!!!), Rocketman 95 and @Major to watch the early games together!!!
****, I couldn't have made it but I wasn't even invited this year. Assholes! The first [name them] after dad is gone is a tough one. Remember the good times.
It was pieced together last night honestly…sorry!! Kinda last minute, and I had to leave at 2 to keep making donuts….grateful for iPads and laptops I was watching while working this afternoon talking to you!!! Also….you’re right about the good times. The one I’m remembering today was going with him to that first round of the NCAA tourney in Austin in 1995…watching TSU nearly take down the national champs. Then having the Drum full of orange to support Lawrence Poetry in Moten wear Syracuse Orange vs that same Arkansas squad….on the off day in between we went to the Arboretum and saw Outbreak. That was the last weekend of my Spring Break that year. Gave him a hug and drove back to Baylor to see my Little Rock / Arkansas fan girlfriend that’s now my wife
Also, I forgot to mention in my defense, that my thoughts of the B10 vs the B12 took into account 2 of the B12's Final Four contenders losing great players: Toppin (Tech) and Sanders (BYU). Sucks that they're not healthy for this. eta: I never remember you showing up at "The Wet Spot" in Houston, or BW3 Rice, or Pluckers in Austin. I'm sure there were more Coward.
