Besides his excellence on-ball defense, I strongly believe amen is at his best as a cutting, splashing, penetrating small point-forward. Early in the season when he focused himself / caught up in his role as the team Point guard, he seemed to regress. If he can develop his 3 Point shooting to +/- 33%, he has reached his full potential. Besides all of that amen has a top tier mental toughness , competitive spirit and overall winner attitude. (Not scared of the big moment)

Better to remain silent than open your mouth and remove all doubt. But that takes some amount of self awareness.

We need to blow it up and build around Amen's strengths and weaknesses and pray he improves enough, one way or another, to become a #1 option. It's the only real path at this point, with Sengun's development apparently having plateaued and nobody else on the team appearing to have even a chance of getting there at this point. (Some might argue Reed, but I doubt it, although I would definitely keep him and keep developing him.)

We are the 4th-slowest paced team in the league. On a team with average pace, Amen would likely already be a 20+ point scorer with around 7 assists per game on 50+ percent shooting. If he can learn to shoot even at a mediocre level he will be a #1 option. If he can't, he's still a very good offensive player with high-level defense, so we're still in the same boat, trying to find a #1.

Can’t shoot, never will. Trade his ass.

I would not give up on Sengün, especially in dire times like these with KD and FVV status unknown.

Sengün proved at the Euro Basket that he can play like Super Gasol.

He is just having a bad season, and he is not really a good tandem with Katie.

At least Sell High when he is playing like an All-NBA player, not when he is looking like this.

With Sengun, I'd say it depends on what offers are out there. I wouldn't be looking to dump him at any cost. I'd be willing to trade him for a return that made sense, and I'd be willing to say no and give it another year if nothing turns up.

You never sell them low, Udoka and Stone are the problems, anyone with eyes can see that.

You don't trade Amen and Sengün now with a moronic coach setting them up for failure.

I hope your joking - 22/10/5 on efficiency AND is one of the best one on one defenders in the game AND is 23 yrs old. He’s literally a healthier, more productive version of young career Kawhi. I mean he’s already a top 10 two way player in the league….please tell me you aren’t that misguided.

Fair point. Like I said I wouldn't trade him unless the offer was a good one. We're in no hurry when it comes to Sengun, and who knows, maybe he can still take the next step. However, I would at least listen this offseason and see what the offers are.

Your sarcasm meter must be broken. I’m the biggest Amenstan on the GARM. I am from the nation of Amenistan.

He will if Ime features him like he did in the first half. Imagine setting picks for Amen to get downhill. Of course, they got away from featuring him in the 4th quarter. Ime calls him the pg, but hasn’t really given him the position all year. He should be initiating virtually every possession or at worst sharing it with Sengun in the free throw circle instead of top of the circle or 3 pt line. If Durant turned his ankle we probably don’t win that many more games, but it would unleash Amen and maybe get Ime comfortable with handing him the reigns next year. It took an injury to get him in the starting unit. Maybe an injury would get him in the right role.

I advocated trading him earlier in the season. I’m starting to think he should be kept.

Honestly, the offense has been so bad I dont really understand why we "need" KD at this point. The more KD scores, the less everyone else does, the more KD gets the ball in his hands, the less everyone else does and the more TOs we have(we are already one of the worst teams at this).

At this point we are like the 26th ranked offense over the last several weeks so who really cares if the offense craters without him - it was never going anywhere with him. It certainly wasn't improving. I'm in awe of how effective KD is in those mid range spots - it's truly impressive.....but if he makes the team worse - did we really move the needle that much further from Jalen Green?
