After seeing Higgins later in the yr, I'm thinking he's got WR1 potential. Look at the production from the Bills game going forward. Steve Smith said a light came on for Higgins.and I trust Smith when it comes to evaluating WR's. Just curious why dont you think Higgins can be a WR2?
Agree, our DBfld is going to Beast Mode next year--no weaknesses! If we add a coverage LB and a stud DT, we're gonna WHUP SOM ASS!! We may go defense with our first pick depending on how the draft unfolds. LBs and DTs could be the BPA in late 1st and early 2nd.
I am stoked about Blankenship; the dude is a baller and when I listened to the interview I thought about one person as a comp.......white chocolate
They lack depth - that's an issue. We all saw the team almost immediately collapse against the Chargers when Lassiter missed a few plays and Riley Leonard carved us up when they sat Lassiter week 18. This defense is a Sting or Lassiter injury away from being far more ordinary - they need to desperately find a 3rd CB. And, frankly, a third safety, too.
Well really up and down the roster this is in an issue right now. They were actually really healthy last year for their stars. Have to hope for that again.
Yep. Aziz missed a game and there was struggle; Collins misses games annually and we've seen that impact; Brown being out v NE was a HUGE factor. They have a good back-up QB; depth in the RB room, and I think they finally have some depth along the OL - especially if they draft 1-2 viable prospects. Having said ALL that, the single biggest injury drop-off, right now, is Sting or Lassiter. If either one of those guys miss time, their season is tanked. They have to find a viable 3rd CB.
Agree! Hoping Jaylin Smith and Jaylen Reed step it up this year and that we add another CB/S either via Draft or FA, but our starters are fantastic.
Yeah I think you are right and both corners being healthy again for most of the season is risky. They also have Pitre as their nickle and he's injury prone, so if we think of them as a group of 3 they are really thin. On top of all of that, Kamari is a good chance to be gone in FA when it's time. Drafting a corner wouldn't be a bad idea, but I'd love a veteran.
I'm not remotely up-to-speed on cap ramifications - but I don't think they're letting Kamari leave. I think they'll build around WAJ, Sting, Kamari and Stroud.
I think if we draft an OT in first 3 rds, you're likely right. Probably a 6-7th in 2027. He's still young and I do have some hope that he might become something, but will trust Popovich on if he sees that potential being realized.
His backup was already out and so was the backup backup. But M. J. Stewart is back. Though listed as a safety, I believe he has been the primary backup for Lassiter. And I think Reed was the other who was out at the time.
