I’m going to defend him in that he plays with a bunch of lousy teammates with no offensive capabilities. You take KD and Reed out of the lineup and we have zero offense. Jabrari, Tari, Amen, DFS, Clint, Okogie all can’t shoot!!! Get off Dickerson’s arse and blame Ime and Stone, as they created this disaster and think a slow small 33 year old is going to turn us into champions next year. Pathetic!!!
You didn't tell us jack shiit. If all teams have to do is double team KD and play a zone on the rest of the court, what does that say about the collective ability of the rest of the team when they can't win 4 on 3. KD and Sengun have been getting doubled all year long and the other guys on the court can't take advantage.
The Rockets would be better off if KD sat, and didn't play at all, if he is going to try to roll back the clock. The team is fine on offense when you don't have a 37 year old baby trying to get by quicker players at his advanced age. Sengun looks terrible because KD and him occupy the same space, put Sengun on the post....have him touch it almost every time down and watch how everything opens up. KD is a problem he is NOT an answer.....he should be taking a page out of LEBRON's handbook and take a back seat. DD
You actually don't need to censor cunt. It's the weirdest thing, but that word's apparently all good (it's rather appreciated for me, it's a very common word in the vernacular of Northern England and Scotland where I live and was raised haha.)
...lot of words - here is the TLDR: KD is great at one thing and likely makes the team demonstrable worse at just about everything else. Honestly as bad as the offense has looked - I'm not so certain benching KD or minutes resting him a bit won't make us a better team in the short term. He solved a Jalen Green problem at the expense of literally everyone else on the roster's skills. We play slow, don't get back on defense, don't generate and take a high volume in "efficient" shots. I agree that it feels like certain danger putting the ball in the hands of guys like Amen, Tari, Jabari, Reed - but if you are the 26th best offense of late - what do you REALLY lose by sitting KD? Ive said it before - this feels like KD is on a mission to catch Jordan - and the team is playing along while we slide in the standings and everyone lets him do it....but someone has to grow a pair and put the HOFer in his place....and for christ sake - the roster is NOT built in a scalable way as evidence by the dependence on offensive rebounds to clean up poor offense. The stat exercise - just as a thought exercise to understand how bad we are screwed: in 2026, Houston is 5-9 against potential playoff western conference teams. We lose those games by an average of 13 points and in the wins we average a 5pt winning margin. That seems pretty bad although it's worth mentioning point differential is generally a strong indicator of team quality and Houston has the 3rd highest point differential in the West BUT Houston started the season very strong with a tough Strength of Schedule and ironically has cooled off as their schedule has weakened although if I'm being honest - they are winning against the crappy opponents - they just barely escape their western conference peers if they win at all. I have a Cleaning the Glass sub and wanted to dive in a bit more - overall Houston has a decent set of metrics supporting that this team is better than we think over the course of the year but they have two very strange phenomenon occurring to them - they are 25th in the league in expected win differential. In other words, a team's statistical metrics suggest a certain record for how those teams likely performed - a probability of winning/losing based on the statistical metrics and against closer competition it becomes a coin flip. Houston appears to be "unlucky" and lose those coin flip games more often than all but 5 teams(Miami, New Orleans, Boston, Memphis, and Charlotte - not great company to keep). I would say anyone who saw that last LA game knows what this is.... Another interesting data point - Houston also appears to be the 27th worst team at making the spread(Sacramento, Milwaukee, and Indiana are the only ones worse at it). Not sure what that means really but it is odd a team this talented with TWO supposed All Stars is one of the worst teams at performing to the spread. ...however if you zoom into the last 2 weeks -it reveals how bad we have been. Houston is ranked 20th in point differential, 26th in offense, surprisingly 9th in defense, and 29th in spread diff. Zooming back out to season totals - Houston generally has been a decent defensive team although they rank 20th in TOs forced and offensively they are closer to a fringe top 10 team with the most obvious gaps being we turn the ball over the3rd most in the league and we are in the bottom half of getting to the line. Still a top ranked offensive rebounding team - I think it's clear that has helped our offense more than we would like to consider. Losing Stevo was big regardless of whether anyone wants to admit he was what made the current offense "work". Houston is also ranked next to last in the league in transition play frequency off of steals and live rebounds (hello Alpi/KD and the poor offense!) but the team actually scored at a decent clip enough to rank as the 10th best team in points per 100. Houston is also one of the 4 worst teams at allowing pts off steals and is in the bottom half in the league at defending transition. Last stat - Houston is the 29th worst team at 3pt shooting and in the bottom 3rd at the rim but is one of the best mid range teams. That's not shocking given KD's skill set but it means Houston as a team is best at the least effective shots which speaks to a larger roster construction problem. KD gives us scoring but if it's not opening up 3pt shots or rim runs - it's actually putting us at a disadvantage. When Stevo is cleaning those up, the team wethers that inefficiency better - but the problem has been there since the start.
I thought Mirsad Turckan, Michael Dickerson, Bryce Drew, and Cuttino Mobley would be the Core Four for a decade.
I couldn't disagree more. Obviously there isn't just one thing you can point to. There are lots of areas in which they can improve, and Ime is certainly not above criticism. But this is what I know. For the last two seasons our whole team was nothing but dogs. They very rarely lost for lack of effort. But you know who was losing for lack of effort frequently? The Suns. And the Nets before that. This is three straight stops for Durant where his team becomes a massive failure. At what point can we admit to ourselves that there is a common denominator here? At what point can we look at these kids who all played like their lives depended on it the last two years and ask ourselves, "where did their fight go? Who crushed their confidence?". Could it possibly be it's the guy with the bad body language and the burner accounts who frequently can't be bothered to give effort on either end of the court? Reed Sheppard is the only guy out there who (usually) doesn't look like his soul has been stolen. I blame Durant above all others and I do not give one single f*ck about his hollow stats or even his occasional game winners. I cannot wait for this loser to be off of our team. It cannot come quick enough for me. p.s. a lot of y'all owe Dillon Brooks an apology. Talking about we should trade him to free up time for Tari Eason.
Ugh. Tiresome. Just wait until the playoffs when we have a closer. Guys will adjust to the double team and I hope Ime plays Josh more. He's better for our starting line up at this point. The West is crazy and up for grabs, but we have youth and a goat. I like our chances of doing some damage especially if Freddy makes it back. The Cavs are coming out of the East as I see it and the Rockets will be the third seed when it's all said and done. Imagine facing the Suns ...that would be fun. But please , God, avoid the Blazers at all costs . That team is and will be a problem for years to come. #freeNic #freeJosh #TradeTari
I expect a first round exit in 5 games or less no matter who the opponent is. That's how low I am on a Kevin Durant led team. I envy your optimism.
We should bet, there is not a chance in hell Ime adjusts after watching this **** show all year.....the team won't magically figure out the double team - there is a REASON that others don't use it ALL THE TIME, they wait until the right moment letting Houston get comfortable then apply it and we collapse. The Rockets are broken, and it is primarily the coach who won't put an aging 37 year old into his place like Reddick did - and the Lakers are better off for it. DD
Too many teams that our team is too flawed to beat. Thunder, Nuggets, Spurs, Lakers (maybe with help from the refs), Golden State...It doesn't look good. If we get a good draw from one the other teams, we might make it out of the first round.
It’s like saying Voldemort in the states. my family still holds it against me the time I called another person in the fam that word (15 yrs later) plus this place censors the most random words
Oh yeah I get it, I have a lot of US family haha. Where one of my grandparents is from in Scotland though it's often used as a term of endearment lol.
..... although I do realize that some people view stats as something "for casuals"..... lol AI Overview Kevin Durant is having an exceptionally efficient 2025-26 season with the Houston Rockets, maintaining high-volume scoring (25.8 PPG) while shooting over 51% from the field and roughly 88-89% from the free-throw line. He remains elite in efficiency, with high-percentage shooting in the paint and above-the-break threes Key Efficiency Stats (2025-26 Season): Points per game: 25.8 (Top 10 in NBA). Field Goal Percentage: ~51.4%. Free Throw Percentage: ~88.6%. True Shooting/Usage: His efficiency remains high despite being the primary focus of opposing defenses, maintaining elite shooting percentages in the paint (74.5 restricted area) and midrange (49.7). Durant continues to produce at a high level, displaying elite efficiency for a player at his age, often leading the Rockets in shooting percentage and scoring efficiently on both 2-point and 3-point shots, according to NBA news. .... Sooooooooo..... is KD underperforming - or is his support somewhat lacking?
This is how you know AI is clueless on basketball......relying on AI that is manipulated by it's owners is pretty funny and not all that bright. DD
i know, bro... stats - pfffpt! Nothing is as good as the "seasoned eyes" of a former youth basketball coach.... lmao
