    Top counterterrorism official Kent resigns over Trump’s Iran war, says Iran posed no imminent threat

    WASHINGTON (AP) — Joe Kent, the director of the National Counterterrorism Center, announced his resignation on Tuesday, citing his concerns about the justification for military strikes in Iran and saying he “cannot in good conscience” back the Trump administration’s war.

    “Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby,” Kent said in a statement posted on social media, making claims President Donald Trump has denied.

    As head of the National Counterterrorism Center, he was in charge of an agency tasked with analyzing and detecting terrorist threats.

    His resignation reflects unease within Trump’s base about the war and shows that questions about the justification for the use of force in Iran extend to at least one senior member of Trump’s Republican administration.

    A special forces combat veteran with ties to right-wing extremists, Kent was considered as much of a loyalist as Trump could have in the government’s top counterterrorism post.

Cuba is next or could be before Iran because the Cuban commies are a bunch of free loaders just like the woke shiitheads in here. Cuban communists never knew how to produce or run a God damn thing except begging for loose change just like astro123 aka Baghdad Bob, so when they got cutoff, the island falls into darkness.     Arabs want to see Iran destroyed because they hate Iranians for not being subjugated during the Islamic expansion and instead co-opt Islam to make a religion with 300 million followers.

    Israelis is want to see Iran destroyed because Iran is Alamek.

    Americans by and large do not care about Iran. We care about the oil.

    Iranian diaspora want to see Iran destroyed most of all.

    But that’s their job, not the Israelis, Americans, or Arabs.

    Iranians in Iran*. The Iranian government was on the ropes. This conflict gave it a third wind.

    If we and the Arabs did not funnel close to $100+ billion to Iraq during its calamitous war against Iran in the 1980s, the Iranian government would’ve collapsed on its own. Instead we gave them the existential threats to survive and the motivation to build up their own arms industries to survive an event like this.

    Iran has a lot less to lose than their neighbors by virtue they were never allowed to integrate into the global world order post revolution. That means they’re more resilient.
