    Lol

Cam is having a nice spring

Brice is athletic as Fk but can’t make contact

If anyone needs more seasoning it’s Brice

    Maybe they both do.

Maybe everyone listed as an OF ( besides Yordan) on this roster should be in AAA or sit at least 80 games.

Maybe that's why having 5 starting infielders on this team is a luxury that has a very real possibility of hurting the overall record of 2026.

A good, not great outfielder on the field is better than an All-Star infielder sitting on the bench.

TBC, I am happy Dana didn't settle and trade Paredes for dimes or quarters on the dollar, but it sucks that the hole in the OF/lineup wasn't filled.

It will be really nice if at least 2 of Cam, Cole, Loperfido, Matthews, Dezenzo, or Trammell can put together a .750+ OPS over 300+ PAs.

    I have guarded hope.

Less than 2 weeks Let's Go.

This is really cool. Clearly Alvarez has impressed enough that several people felt like he deserved this opportunity this late in the spring. It’s not like he’s making the team or anything- super exciting nonetheless

If he’s assigned to a full season affiliate in 2 weeks it probably is enough of a show of confidence from the Astros staff that we should consider Alvarez one of the top 70-80 prospects in the league.

Javier looks way better today through two. Mostly strikes. Lots of swing and miss. Invisibility back?

Velo is up a tick on most offerings today. I strongly believe that for Javier to be effective- his average 4 seam velo needs to be 93+. There was some rumor I heard about Javier implementing more of a sinker in his arsenal. Consistency with his velo and “invisiball movement” will likely dictate Javier’s success this year

Shay came in clutch to win the game and avoid a spring training no-hitter (Astros had one hit and the Marlins had three hits.)

    Paredes better play everyday.

I don’t think any of those players you mentioned can put up a .750 OPS over 300 at bats except Cam.

on a separate note- if Dezenzo doesn’t drop that incredibly routine pop fly against the crappy white sox last year to give up 3 runs, we make the postseason. I know, I should let it go.

I think we have a World Series pitching staff. OF bats are pretty scary. Can’t stand the thought of Allen getting a significant number of starts. Get well soon, Jeremy.

Looks like Pena is gonna be ready for opening day. But even if he isn’t he might only miss 6-7 games unless something changes since they could backdate his IL stint 3 days.

Just like last year, as things stand Houston has a ton riding on the bats of Cam Smith, Yainer Diaz, and Christian Walker over performing their projections. Mainly Smith; if he posts an ops >850 then Houston is likely a legit WS contender unless they are ravaged by injuries again.

I don't care what Joe is saying right now about Yordan in LF. I'll bet anything that Joe will panic and have Yordan in LF regularly if this offense is bad the first few weeks because the OF is ass.

McCullers sitting 92-93 with his 4s and not locating great. Not a super encouraging 2nd to last outing of spring.

the command is an issue. I think he could be serviceable with that velocity if can locate his pitches. I don’t think he is fully confident yet. I wonder if he’s willing to throw a few games in AAA to get everything synced up.

Roa, Lambert, and Munoz all have to make this roster somehow.
