Another wait-and-see signing, but the tentative starting line looks like Ersery – Teller – Andrews – Ingram – Smith. I want Jake Slaughter in the first round
I am blanking, but who is Jaws? I feel like Brevin has been here a decade at this point but he is still young.
I am convinced the Dolphins will trade him and it will obviously be for less than a 1st rounder. Achane also will not get $17M per year from his new team. The Dolphins are in tank mode and want to get something for Achane and he definitely doesn't want to be on the worst team in the NFL next year (that will have the worst offense, by far). Something will come together. Achane's agent will negotiate a reasonable contract with another team that is willing to give a 2nd or 3rd round pick to the Dolphins. Put it in the bank.
Okay I'm way more hopeful with the potential starting offensive line now. I still wouldn't hate taking a OT/G and a Center with 2 of the first 4 picks if the value is there. But DT, coverage LB, RB, and CB could still potentially be options in the early rounds.
Lol, pretty much how I saw it too, we'll put the guy who came in and basically saved our season and has alot of starting experience behind these guys who are mostly all hype and not sure if they've even seen a regular season game
I think were "better" now and now we can draft the eventual replacements on the O Line, the 2 new linemen are an upgrade and have that SWARM mentality DeMeco likes. BDN got 2 o lineman for what Titus got, could be sneaky smart or a year from now we will say WTF Nick, bargain bin shopping again, but I think it's clear our new O Lineman will be above average, now can they stay healthy is the big question Now let's draft the future, man I feel a lot better......................whew! Me, waiting on Nick to do ANYTHING
I have to say I feel pretty good with our FA signings to date. - We've added 2 talented vets at LG and RT, and a versatile IOL that can play OG/OC. - We added a Safety with SB experience/leadership skills and who fits the swarm mentality - We added some younger rotational DL pieces - We added a TE who can block and could have some upside in the passing game With the addition of Monty we don't have any glaring weaknesses and that allows Cas/Meco to roll into the draft looking for BPA strategy. We may even look to move up for certain players we like, but I doubt its in the first round. The sweet spot seems to be RDs 2-4. I could see us trying to get another 3rd and/or 4th with DL/OL/LB/CB/RB/TE being the targets. I also would be surprised if we take a QB at some point in the draft as a developmental guy. Mills is on last year of his contract and could leave next year. I also wouldn't be surprised if we didn't take a guy like Brenen Thompson or Eli Heidenreich in RD 4 or 5, I know all bets are on the John Carroll dude, but I like these two guys for their speed and versality.
Yep, this is his year to get paid. Problem is, he's not unrestricted and the team that pays him must give up a draft choice. Achane must accept what the market offers him this year, unless he wants to return to the Dolphins. IMO, he isn't in a position of strength because his urgency to leave the 'Fins and get a multi-year deal following a career year is much greater than their urgency to trade him. Probably something gets done before the draft.
