I really hope they got things lined up for the line already. 5th seems low but when you think about Cleveland had to pay him idk
A 5th?? Wtf indeed. He was our better line men. They better have a good plan for the line this year in place.
Maybe this move was to push CJ wanting out instead of us saying we want to trade him? He knows what the O-line is and to see the best O-lineman traded…that would make me feel like the organization definitely don’t listen to me lol
It’s too early to say they’re not trying to improve the line. At least let us get through free agency before everyone says the sky is falling.
I realize we will likely need to increase cap space in order to bring in the kind of talent required to upgrade the O-line...but sending OUT the O-line talent we have in order to make that happen seems like a poor way to approach that goal.
There were rumors that Tytus was going to be cut because of his contract this offseason. So getting a 5th for a guy you were going to get cut is not such a bad proposition. That's how the Texans got Mixon.
Posters overrate how good Howard is. The Texans want to run the ball better. Howard isn't a good run blocker. If Howard really was their best OL then that explains why the OL has had issues the last few years. Truth is Howard was way overpaid and can be easily replaced.
Just wow.... 1) made some deals at the combine on FA OL? 2) identified some really good OL in draft? (not what BDN is known for)
That’s my only gripe with this whole deal. Howard is good, not great. If they’re gonna use the money elsewhere to improve I’m fine with it. Now, if they don’t address the OL in the draft or free agency then they are total morons and deserve all the hate.
