We don't give people like him enough credit. That's bravery.

    RIP

Horrible disease, until the late stages your brain is all there but your body just slowly stops working. It's basically the other side of the coin to Alzheimer's/dementia.

Had to wiki him to remember where I knew him from: The Last Ship (I watched the first season+). The book was excellent if you're interested in that sort of thing.

RIP, wonderful that he left that message for his daughters, can't bring myself to read whatever was made public.

I didn't know who he was but got caught by autoplay. Why do websites out there still do this?. Yes, the guy passed away but it's similiar to the Norwegian Olympian. The person/people who the message is intended for would not appreciate how it has been made in such a public way.

If you're asking me, I have no idea. That's certainly not why I said he was brave. He's a bad ass for tackling and navigating such a cruel twist of fate, as far as I'm concerned.

I will say though, it appears to me that people -- for one reason or another -- are drawn to stories of others suffering.

And if you think about it, it's possible this guy was actually paid to share his story before passing. It is a total tabloid/People magazine-ish thing. I can remember Jan-Michael Vincent (the "once famous star of Airwolf") being so down-on-his-luck that he took his fake leg off and waved it at ET's cameras to prove how low he had fallen. It happens.
