[Woj] Suns Fire Coach Frank Vogel After 1 Season

Discussion in 'NBA Dish' started by Mr. Dominant, May 9, 2024.

?

Was firing the correct choice after 1 season?

  1. Yes

  2. No

  3. Should have granted 1 more year for a 2nd season before deciding

  4. Should have never hired Frank to begin with

  5. Suns team should be fully healthy before deciding to firing their coach

  6. I could care less about the Suns

That’s who Rafael Stone wanted last year.

Glad we at least have a coach for the next 4-8 years and on the uptrend as opposed to teams like the Lakers, Suns etc.

Budenholzer can probably fix the Suns offense to integrate the top 3 players. He would be a huge upgrade over Vogel.

But their roster needs revamping. Beal's minutes should be reduced and his role might need to change a bit.

Thank God for Witus, otherwise this franchise would be in shambles.

Frank Vogel has forgotten more about basketball than I’ll ever know. He’s a really good coach. He may not be the right fit, though, and that’s ok. He’ll land on his feet, and we’ll see if the Suns can ever pull anything together ever I’ll hang up and listen…

We’re gonna go all in on these 3 guys with virtually no bench what could possibly go wrong?

Yeah - this is the puppet that Stone wanted to hire after firing his prior puppet coach (Silas).

Frank deserved better. No true point, limited if at all cap space, Durant maybe be on the decline. The roster wasn’t build right or could be that his system didn’t fit the team

Beal probably needs to embrace a sixth man role.

Not sure why Mike would jump on this one but it would be exciting to watch him coach Durant and Booker. I hope Durant can still perform at a high lever for a couple more seasons.

James Jones puts together misfitting roster, and Vogel gets canned? Not that i consider Vogel a great coach, but they should have kept Monty.

    Mistake #1 - firing Monty
    Mistake #2 - trading CP3 for Beal
Mistake #3 - not signing/trading for any PG's - they literally have no PG's on their roster

Is Vogel a good fit with the Suns? Probably not, but it's really hard to blame this season's performance on him -- injuries, no depth, etc
