What Current Players have you Frequently Criticized, But Hope Your Wrong About?

Landale. I just don't see ANYTHING about him that's special, but I know he's got to be better than that.

 

Oh no doubt. Seems like the same criticism ownership and the front office have received for drafting those 20 year olds, even though they seem to have architected a promising future. That seems to be pretty common place here now unfortunately. But it’s all good! Just glad we have a team to be excited about again!

I mean... if we're talking exclusively about players currently on the team, as the thread title implies, shouldn't everyone who calls themselves a Rockets fan want to be wrong about everyone they've criticized?

 

I’ve been extremely down on Jabari and due to his lack of handle and athletic limitations (explosiveness and coordination mostly), I don’t think he’ll ever be more than a utility big whose success will depend entirely on the space other players create for him. I’m also dubious about his ability to put on weight - his frame suggests he’ll be closer to Joe Smith than Lamarcus Aldridge - which may limit his effectiveness as a big defender.

However, if he can continue improving as a shooter, grow into a top tier perimeter defender (both things that seem entirely possible to me), and maybe develop enough of a post game (simple baby hook would do) to punish shorter defenders, he can easily be a first rate starter. And while that may not satisfy those who judge lottery picks on a binary scale, I wouldn’t complain about that.

 

I don't hope I am wrong. I am right, I hope they can correct what I criticized.

 

I hated Bullocks as soon as we signed him because he has been declining HARD for the past 2 to 3 years. I hope he can find a spark in himself come playoffs.

 

Landale is the Center version of Bullock, a rebound here and there, suspect shooting.
