    I don’t see the Clippers pulling away down 19 early vs NO tonight, but I’m curious what would happen if the Mavs beat us on Tuesday in that scenario- you would have all teams from our bracket at 2-2.

    It will be a crazy 5-way tie.

    In the event two or more teams are tied within a group, the tie among the teams will be broken according to the following tiebreakers (in sequential order):

    • Head-to-head record in the Group Stage;
    • Point differential in the Group Stage;
    • Total points scored in the Group Stage;
    • Regular season record from the 2022-23 NBA regular season; and
    • Random drawing (in the unlikely scenario that two or more teams are still tied following the previous tiebreakers).

    so is there a play-in playoffs after this? i dun get it, so there will be 2 playoffs now? this one and the other 3 months long one but of lesser importance?

    West Group B
    1. Pelicans: 3-1 (W3-L1, +33)
    2. Rockets: 2-1 (W2-L1, +16)
    3. Nuggets: 2-2 -o
    4. Mavericks: 1-2 -o
    5. Clippers: 1-3 -o
    Rockets faces the Mavs (next Tue) at Dallas.

    The IST is kind of a fool’s gold. Teams who advanced get tougher opponents while those don’t het weaker opponents.

    OKC, Denver, Dallas, maybe Wolves are kicked out of competition.....those were the best teams in the WC Standings.

    I still haven't cared enough to even look up how the tournament works, I've just gotten bits and pieces by osmosis. If we make it out of group play I guess I'll start paying attention.

    However, I'm a lot more interested in:

    -4 of the 6 Rockets losses have been by 6 points or less
    -The Rockets have the 6th-best net rating in the NBA
    -If the season ended today, we would be the 7th seed and in the play-in to make the real playoffs
