Rockets sign Daniel Theis (4 years, $36M)

this is terrible...WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A 6'8 CENTER...he could have signed Noel from the Knicks...maybe we can sign Richaun Holmes later this week....we need more size

 

9 mil a year isn’t bad value at all for a big man like Theis.
Olynyk just got 12.3 mil per year and isn’t as good as Theis defensively.

The Theis contract isn’t an albatross and that 9 mil per year salary will be excellent in matching salary for trades in a couple years

I'm not mad but the dollar amount feels too high. Ok big men are a dime a dozen.

It's important to have good veterans to build a team. This is a good salary for a decent player.

 

Good contract, Wood probably won't be resigned and he will provide a veteran presence during the rebuild.

Hoping for some news on that fourth year. Really shouldn't be guaranteed.

 

Daniel Theis IS a better defensive guy then Kelly but with Garuba and Tate we need a Noel or Holmes....

Theis always impressed me when he was with the Celtics. Made a lot of smart, winning plays. Celtics fans missed him dearly when he left;

 

Meh likely won’t be an issue to unload him when we need max cap space in a couple of years which is all that really matters.
