    What does it mean? Should I get my blaster from the top of the closet and make sure it’s operative?

    Also, Fatty is right. The Monolith was/is not the HAL 9000. Might have influenced it’s behavior in some way, however. Sadly, we cannot ask Dr. Clarke or Stanley Kubrick.
