I'm aware, but there are ALOT of times when dude's are just getting catch and shoot threes, they have the highest percentage of spot up shots in the league, they same kind of shots we are getting. There is no evidence that a movement based offense increases your 3 point percentage.

Well all I know is the Rockets are 5th to last in open 3 pt shooting percentage. It ain't good. It's a possible explanation. I'm not saying it's definitive.

We're still generating open shots. Our offense is fine.

Well then it's in spite of our open 3 pt shooting percentages for the season because that is relatively bad compared to the rest of the NBA.

The Rockets are 5th to last in open 3 pt looks. We are relatively bad at open 3s. It could be because the non ball handling players on this team like Green, Covington etc just stand around on offense and just wait to shoot.

Dont know why you wouldn’t include the numbers for wide open looks as well. And only putting the rank doesn’t give you the context necessary. In 18/19 they were 9th in the league at open 3s but actual percentage wise it was worse than the prior two year when they were 17th and 13th.

but anyway

3pt % on “open looks”
19/20 : 32.5(25th)
18/19 : 34.8(9th)
17/18 : 35.0(17th)
16/17 : 36.0(13th)

I don’t think this standing around theory is it. We weren’t a good 3 point shooting team period this year.
