That’s because it doesn’t require any critical thinking to understand that Trump is to blame for the vast majority of the mess that the US is in. Just common sense.

Well, than Wattahead - please show us the national plan - any time you are ready, or you can simply stop the trolling dumbassery.

i wasn’t talking specifically about you, but the gov who decided to ignore the experts and the cdc to re-open based on obviously their own criteria (or worse just no criteria at all). The point is simply if you aren’t following the cdc criteria for re-opening than you are either not following any or your own.

The data I looked at showed it hovering 20-30k and I don’t think it ever went below 21k since April and I believe re-opening starts around the end of April.

Tell me this - did Trump bend their arms behind their backs?
He was just echoing the sentiments of the majority. People want to work and return to normal and when they are unfamiliar with the consequences it will seem like a good idea at the time.

I see you deliberately sidestepped giving me a direct answer so I take that as tacit admission I am correct that blaming Trump for everything is not critical thinking.

"blaming Trump for everything" is a strawman that you've created to argue against. You're deflecting away from your own lack of critical thinking to win an imaginary argument.

Do you not see this? You are here to just "win"?

Our President's first responsibility is the safety of our country and our population. He should spread a clear, consistent, informed message during times like this. He should not threaten to withhold federal funds from states that don't open schools. He should not need to require states to kiss his butt in order to receive funds for the National Guard. He should set an example. He should not belittle people. He should not retweet irresponsible COVID news to advance his own agenda (still waiting on those case reports from Dr. Immanuel). He should not misrepresent statistics. He should not turn briefings into campaign events. He should show compassion, empathy and humbleness. He should be less prideful and not have refused resources from previous administrations. He should take responsibility and quit blaming others. He should not lie.

And, frankly, I don't care how the USA may be performing some things better than other countries. We are supposed to be the best country in the world. We are supposed to be looked up to. We have failed abysmally.

You can always find a way to spin data to support any argument. To say that Belgium - this tiny country with less than 10,000 deaths has handled things worse is eye-popping especially when you look at a chart like this:

The facts don't look good for your argument.

Kind of resembles the New York death graph. First, I don't think anyone is defending Cuomo. He made what turns out to have been a bad decision (see, I agree and have agreed with that @bigtexxx). But, even if every single NY death is omitted from the US numbers, over 130,000 have still died. Here is the recent NY death graph. And to make sure I don't violate "board policy", here is the link.

It makes far more sense to blame ourselves - we spread the darn thing, not Trump.

Google the Covid19 site and look for the chart for the US. Shows us trending down from about April to June.
By the end of June the daily average was below 20k and decreasing.

You mean like the President blaming the previous administration rather than blaming his administration for various mistakes?

Not at all - ever heard of an anology?
I was using it as a perfectly pertinent example.
Nice try to wiggle out of it but no cigar.
