Nah, Bass or Warren are far to the left of Harris. Biden could have gone full far left and didn’t. The reality is no one knows what Harris’ true political opinions are because they depend on which way the wind is blowing.. No I don’t think so. I actually believe Biden would be more liberal than Clinton who really was about as implanted into the current political structure as is possible.
Suck my Black Dick. You don’t give a **** about “brothers”. Again, Keep licking Trump’s nuts. Anyone BUT Trump.
He might be right that Trump wins! 1. They're taking the Black vote for granted, actually. 2. They're blowing off the Bernie vote, again. 3. They've got nothing to entice independents, again. 4. Whichever states they took for granted last time, they'll do that again too. 5. Biden is one generation older than Obama. The young people will not care about Biden / Harris at all.
it's too bad that you buy into lies spin by this loser he falsely claimed that Willie Brown was a kingmaker. wrong. Brown was never a king maker he was a very popular politician in the SF / Oakland area. he was ambitious and smart, smart enough to know that, outside of the bay area, he was distrusted by Calif voters. that is why he has never run for state office. in fact, during Harris' run for the US Senate; her opponent was a popular 10-term lawmaker from Orange County, suburbia USA , Lorena Sanchez. in some of her campaign ads in Orange County, Sanchez tied Harris to Willie Brown, knowing that the OC voters, Dems and Rep alike, despise him btw, the author of this fake news article, over-stated his achievements in the 2016 US Senate primary in Calif; he finished 5th, w 4.3% of the votes, vs 38% for Harris, the F***king liar would have the world to believe that he could have beaten Harris. Joe Biden will last more than a year or two in office. His healthy and cognitive ability is no worse than Trump.
Part of me thinks that Biden will go off the rails in his twilight since he has nothing to lose, but that's just wishful thinking. Biden will slip in a few short circuit moments, but he won't do anything that would jeopardize 2024 for Kamala. On paper this ticket may not be quite as "DNC" as 2016 (only less so by matters of a fraction), but it's certainly more centrist and conservative. Hard to believe we ended up here.
Not according to objective analysis. https://www.govtrack.us/congress/members/kamala_harris/412678/report-card/2019 Ranked most liberal compared to All Senators Joined bipartisan bills the least often compared to Senate Democrats Was 3rd most absent in votes compared to All Senators You have to be voting pretty hard core leftist to be considered to the left of Bernie and Warren. But she did it. Also not a good idea to have such a miserable track record for bi-partisanship in the VP position. Meanwhile....she doesn't show up for work either. Ugh.
I will be curious how much she tries to disown her law and order past in the current political climate. My guess is they try to appeal to centrists. VP pick possibly most important considering neither candidate makes it through this upcoming term.
so the guy who says "Satan is taking on the form of Democrats" wouldn't be happy with this ticket...shocking Turnouts will be low based on what? Senator Kamala Harris is Democratic voters’ top choice for Joe Biden’s vice president, according to a new poll provided in advance to Vox. The survey, which was fielded by SurveyUSA and sponsored by FairVote, polled 1,296 Democratic and independent voters July 30-31 on seven prospective candidates. Included in the poll were Harris, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, former White House National Security Adviser Susan Rice, former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, Sen. Tammy Duckworth, Rep. Val Demings and Rep. Karen Bass. The survey contained both a standard poll and a ranked-choice poll, intended to find the candidate with a majority of voters’ support. (The sponsor of the survey, FairVote, is a nonpartisan electoral reform group, which advocates in favor of a ranked-choice system.) When asked to select their pick for Democrats’ vice presidential nomination in a standard poll, 31.9 percent of all respondents chose Harris, 26.8 percent chose Warren and 16.7 percent chose Rice. (The survey had a 3.7 to 4.1-point margin of error.) When the poll was broken out by party affiliation, Harris was the top choice for Democrats, leading Warren 36 to 26 percent. Warren, meanwhile, led among independents, garnering 28 percent support to Harris’s 23 percent. (These figures omitted voters who were undecided about the vice president pick.) In the ranked-choice poll, voters were asked to rank several candidates in order of preference. Then, when their votes were tallied, if no candidate accrued more than 50 percent of the vote, the candidate who had the fewest first-choice votes was removed. Those votes then went to each voter’s next-ranked choice. This process was repeated until one candidate secured a majority of the vote. When the final preferences of both Democratic and independent voters were counted in the ranked-choice survey, Harris emerged with 54.8 percent support, while Warren had 45.2 percent. (It’s worth noting that margin of error is trickier to calculate for ranked-choice polling, so there is more statistical uncertainty around this outcome.) from FoxNews A new poll indicates that a plurality of American voters have a positive opinion of Sen. Kamala Harris, who made history on Tuesday as the first Black woman to serve as a major political party’s vice-presidential pick. A Georgetown University/Battleground national poll released on Monday – one day before presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden named the senator from California and former state attorney general as his running mate – showed that 43% of likely voters nationwide had a favorable view of Harris, with 36% holding an unfavorable view. Eight percent said they had no opinion and 13% answered that they’ve never heard of the senator. According to the new poll – which was conducted Aug. 1-6 – Harris has a 76% favorable rating among Democrats. But she’s slightly underwater among independent voters at 37%-40% -- and she has a 10%-65% favorable/unfavorable rating among Republican voters. Harris had a 64%-15% favorable rating among Black voters, 41%-39% among White voters, and 39%-32% among Hispanic and Latino voters. and there's more I could post
Honestly we will see. I don’t know if anyone really knows what Harris believes in... because it has changed over the years. She has tried pushing herself as a progressive the last 4-5 years after having been a very aggressive prosecutor. Oddly enough, because there was pressure from the black community to name a black woman VP, we likely lost out on more progressive possibilities like Warren or Buttigieg. I personally think Harris will go whatever way the wind blows in 2024... and could be a progressive darling... but who knows.
It's pretty much been Kamala Harris from the beginning. Susan Rice, bright as she is, would have been a great fundraiser....for Trump. Others? I hope we avoid too much butthurt ftom the Bernie faction. Trump got impeached trying to get Bernie as his opposition. The U.S. isn't ready to jump to a socialist President. Just isn't.
It is a small sample size, and would consider Warren to be to the left or her... then again Harris is trying to distance herself from her earlier background as a prosecutor, so maybe she has decided she is far left. She is very bright and very skilled... but she reminds me a bit of Ted Cruz, in that it always feels like they don’t really believe what they are saying.
I think they have a problem with their method: in the poll, Harris is most popular for Democrats/Independents. OK, but all those people who chose Harris in the poll--they might already have been Biden voters. Maybe Harris didn't add any new voters for Biden. And/or, they might have wanted to include Republican voters and other party voters too, in the poll.
Small sample size? She co-sponsored 471 bills that year alone (more than 100 more than the nearest Republican)...WHILE RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT!
I don't discount sour grapes from an impotent California Republican, but 80k a year as a California board member meeting once a month is damn kush. He was right to attack her for not delivering what she promised as a Senator, which I guess was 2 full years (minus the campaigning for prez). Cal Politics's 6 degrees of Separation from Willie Brown is pretty impressive. Likely because NorCal owns the state's political limelight. https://www.mercurynews.com/2019/01/31/walters-willie-brown-sees-his-proteges-rising-to-the-top/ Willie Brown has helped the careers of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Gov. Gavin Newsom, Sen. Dianne Feinstein and many others.
I posted it because that guy said turnout would be low indicating that Democrats/Independents wouldn't like the choice and decide to stay home depressing turnout...if anything, she energizes more women, especially women of color, to flock to the poles Trump has his ride or die cult that will defend him and vote for him no matter what, we see a few of them on here...the rest of the Republicans will have to decide if they're ok with 4 more years of a Trump presidency, and I doubt Kamala Harris is moving the needle in any direction for them...what will is things like the coronavirus situation
What's bad is that he's been a politician for 40 years and has amassed this kind of top 1% wealth. Politics shouldn't be a vehicle to get rich. There's all kinds of problems with that.
