At the end of the day it's a diversifying choice on Biden's part and she's certainly qualified. And to many having Harris on the ticket will be inspiring. To others she's like overcooked steak when you wanted medium rare. It's steak, but it could have been better.

Harris certainly wasn’t my first choice and I agree with Nook and Major that I see her flip flopping a lot. I also agree she often seems too nakedly ambitious as if she’s trying too hard. I don’t see those as damming. She’s certainly intelligent and capable and ambition in and of itself isn’t a bad thing.

My guess is that Rice might’ve been the person Biden was most comfortable with but it was important to have someone who new the campaign trail. Also someone who brought some energy and be an attack dog if needed. Harris brings those traits in addition to being a black women.

Im also amused and not at all surprised at the attacks on her by those on the Right. For those who are supporting Trump out of the leading candidates who were considered for VP would any choice Biden made not be called far Left?

What’s interesting and probably a factor playing into the choice of Harris is those on the Right attacking Harris for incarcerated so many people as they’ve been tarring Biden as soft on crime and arguing that more people need to be incarcerated. While no doubt you’re hoping that this will lead to some black voters #walk away if anything this shows that the Biden campaign is pretty confident that won’t be a factor.

I personally don’t think Harris is a great choice but I don’t think she’s going to be much of a problem. The VP pick isn’t going to decide this race.

Yeah, Californians loved her so much because she put all those black people in prisons. Californians loved her so much that she had to drop out of her own state in the primaries . Like I’ve said man, WinnieTheFlu needs you, he’s not doing too well, all the damn flooding, famine maybe on the way.

Trump’s claim of being a “law and order” President crumbles since Biden just chose a prosecutor. You have to objectively realize the mental gymnastics Trump will have to pull to spin this one. It was a brilliant pick

We are more likely to have fun with her then attacking her Judo. Tulsi Gabbard tore her a new one already during the debates. My pick of VP for you guys has always been Yang. You guys should at least have some credibility left with Yang on board.

Yup. This was the opposite of a "Black" choice: this was a "take-a-bite-out-of-Republicans" choice.

This the Clinton legacy followed by Democrats ever since: Be a Republican.

    Obama...

To be fair though, I recall her polling poorly among black voters relative to other black candidates.

This was a combination of trying to play it safe and picking a black woman to appease black voters, especially after his stupid statement the other day.
