I saw something about his death this morning so I came to check Clutchfans. Decided to wait and check a couple hours later and still nothing. https://www.cnn.com/2020/08/02/entertainment/wilford-brimley-actor-dies/index.html I remember him in a few roles in movies and in oatmeal commercials, then most recently as the "diabeetus" guy.
Can't believe he lived so long. Guess it was all that free testing he got. He was old as hell already in The Firm and that was 30 years ago.
The Thing, The Natural, Cocoon, and The China Syndrome...it seems like I see him every couple of weeks again in one of those. All epic performances that won me over. But, he never got me to eat Quaker Oats. RIP
Him playing the hardcore enforcer in The Firm was always funny to me. And as was mentioned: The Thing, The Natural, ****, this guy was awesome. Plus Seinfeld: He's not just a Postmaster, he's also a General.
Very sad to hear. Loved him in roles like Cocoon, The Natural, and the Thing. For me I will always remember him as severely underrated action star..
He was excellent in The Natural, one of my favorite baseball movies. Mr Brimley could have fit perfectly into a Frank Capra film. Rest In Peace.
