I really wanted to make a run at bringing AJ back next season, especially in light of all the crap that is coming out against other teams, he should not have been fired in the first place.
Hinch makes what, 5 mil a year? He was paid to manage the team in an ethical manner. That has to include stopping the players from cheating. He knew his players were cheating. He still allowed his players to cheat and that should mean his job.
Agree. He's so good at developing young players and having that respect / also freedom. Any team that gets him, will be years ahead from day 1.
It should mean a suspension, not his job - in my opinion. The way I see it, and this is just me, if you know other teams are using tech to steal your signs, without penalty, and you DON'T counter with your own, then that's stupid. Just.Win.Baby.
Baker: "My reaction was I’ve been a lam duck manager four or five times. I was one of the lamest ducks there is walking around. Feels pretty good not to be a lame duck, and this is the best I’ve been treated in quite a while." Astros pitching coach Brent Strom said the team’s promising young pitchers were a factor in him returning: “These are rare kinds of guys we’ll have next year. My time with Dusty has been so gratifying and fun, and I told the organization if they need me, I’d love to come back.”
See I agree with this. How do you let Beltran, Cora and whoever else run your ass over and say "screw you skipper, we're doing this" I know it was said that AJ broke the monitor but they just replaced it!! That's a damn suspension. You can't let that go. Tell Jeff, do someting but you can't continue to let it occur. They didn't need to it. They were already so damn good and away splits prove it. I've grown to really hate Beltran and Cora for influencing such a young team to do something so stupid and cavalier.
he either lost control or had no control of the ship. Screw Hinch for allowing this to happen on his watch. He knew about it and he let it happen. He even let it happen when it wasnt working that well! I wonder if he gets another gig anytime soon. It has tainted our city’s championship and the Astros could’ve won without it. It’s a shame. Hinch really messed up there.
Love me some 80s Dodger hate, but Baker is an Astro now. And how on earth did you leave out Lasorda??
What hurts me more is the numbers show that the Astros were worse with the cheating. It seemed like it was more of a distraction than anything else.
