Not my favorite, but I just heard this again and it kills me everytime:

"Who's been dirtying dishes with you?" That's a blues line if you've ever heard one.

Can’t pick a favorite, but I do love this one, and “a brick baby, that’s what I’m gonna throw upside your head” is also a blues line if you ever heard one.

Bill Withers (Fun Fact: Fed American Grill has a Bill Withers salad on their Brunch menu, and I think 4 of the six of us had it last week. It is delicious if you like fried oysters)

this dude is criminally underrated...one of my favorites of his.

i only recently found out that he wrote the glen cambell song 'southern nights'. his version is so different and so much better. its a really beautiful song.

Perhaps tilted more towards Soul than Blues, but still worth a listen.

Too hard for me to pick one, so...

Koko Taylor’s version of this next one is awesome, too. As a bonus, listen to this and then go listen to Chris Stapleton’s Tennessee Whiskey (which is an awesome song)...note how similar they sound.

I guess I've been doing it wrong all these years, I always thought Leadbelly was one word.

What is the best, dirty-swampy-bluesiest song ZZ ever did?
