I feel like we’d have to give up more than Capela for John Collins so that’s a no. I like Kevin Heurter and Hunter’s upside, but the Hawks just aren’t a great team for us to trade with.
dumping capela easily signals you have no real interest in thinking you can win this season or in the near future for that matter
Weren't the rumored to like Drummand . . . .. Do we want Drummand? Capela for Drummand and ATL gives Detroit some stuff? Rocket River
i believe atl got cold feet bc drummond was non committal long term. i forgot who reported that. and someone is going to pay this dude a lot of money once this season is over
Agreed. If we trade Capela to me, it signals we are moving on from playing traditional centers. We would still need a Nerlens Noel type to get the tip and provide some size at times but MDA seems to believe playing small is the best way to utilize Russ and I don't disagree. Playing 4 out is crucial to give him the space to drive. He's shown in the past that he's a top 3 driver in the NBA and needs a clean lane to really flourish. Collins would be great but I think A) his value is too high and B) the Hawks want to add Capela to Collins and move him to the 4.
Hunter has been playing like dumpster juice only I trade Capela they better be trying to get a bigger piece
If rockets trade Capela to hawks and don’t get back Collins Atlanta will be a fun team to watch. They’re already a good watch... if they only won a bit more
I agree. For all intensive purposes Westbrook IS THE CENTER. We need a stretch 5, or just just get some thicker dudes for small-ball...
I agree they are keeping Collins and move him to PF, Clint at Center. The Rockets are going to give up 150 points a night easily if they are this dumb.
How about this? https://tradenba.com/trades/YNgv_UGc2 Maybe Rockets send their own FRP to Minnesota as well.
That's true but it's hard for me to think they suck because of him, my guess is that the team is just not ready enough to compete and as today it's all about Trae, which might be good for the show but not to win, Collins is a very efficient and smart player, i'm pretty sure he's one of those guys who would fit in every enviroment/system, think about a young Horford. I literally love Collins, him and Clarke are my favorite young bigs in the league, versatile guys who can do pretty much everything on both ends of the court. He could also play the 5 in small ball lineups here without making our defense undersized (PJ) or a joke (Love) so yeah, i'd really love to get him, and i'd take him even over Hunter, although i'd gladly take Hunter too.
