Sounds like at the end of the day, we're in agreement. Maybe the Chinese government played a hand in Tencent's decision, but did the Chinese government really make Tilman announce to the entire world that Morey doesn't speak for the Rockets and that his team is apolitical? Did the Chinese government later on delete Morey's tweet, force James Harden and Adam Silver to apologize for Morey?

Apparently Turkey has been banning Enes Kanter and his team from being streamed in their country for some time now. Why hasn't Silver apologized to Turkey and begged them to allow Knicks streaming? Again, it's the bottom line.

Are you kidding? WTF country are you in? Morey, an american citizen, sends a message of support to those seeking freedom, and your suggestion is taking away his first amendment rights?

Great idea comrade, once he's been silenced and punished, maybe we can go burn some books?

Love how the oversee Chinese enjoying their freedom here and using them to help CCP to suppress others' freedom of speech.

The fine lining is crazy tho

It’s not like Morey tweeted something racist and then private business decided to harm us economically.

These are STATE run businesses . The government reacted to Morey (who in the grand scheme of things is a nobody) and turned this into a 100+ million dollar story

That’s why this is crazy IMO

If the Chinese government made the effort in shutting down illegal meat markets instead of NBA GMs who tweet stuff
Then the Army of the 12 monkeys wouldn't go wild on them

couldn’t help but notice how all the fake social media activists basically stopped talking or caring about Hong Kong by the 2nd weekend of the NBA season which was so damn predictable

temporary outrage and activism for likes and retweets is the norm in today’s society...

I had to double check that you didn't write that post back in October. Which would have been really scary.

Somebody else here made the crack that it's too bad about the NBA being officially off the air there. If everyone is pretty much stuck indoors with nothing to do, the ratings for television entertainment would be through the roof.

He made a HUGE mistake - doesn't mean he is/was wrong just meant that he should have been smarter than to even bring it up.

He has essentially killed the Rockets chances of winning with Harden as the cap will get smaller now.

    https://www.cnbc.com/2019/11/27/tru...into-law-in-spite-of-beijings-objections.html

Since the entire US government decided to back the Hong Kong protesters, doesn't that just make Morey ahead of his time? And therefore retroactively making Morey's tweet a non-issue?

I mean, imagine how bad Tilman or the NBA would look now if they had decided to fine, reprimand, or fire Morey.

And how about LeBron for saying that Morey was not "educated" on the issues.

the cap difference is negligible. he didn't kill anything. the thing that actually needs to be killed is LTS. if that never happens, morey will never be able to do his actual job at his max potential. how people still don't understand this aspect to this day is beyond me
