The whole MLB fanbase is buying into this idea that sign stealing is not worse than Steroids. Insane. They are not considering of the off the field affects of steroids that it had young people taking them too since that's what it took to be a star and how everyone was doing it because they felt they had to in order to keep up or play a little longer.
LOL Media is trash. Players don't owe you anything. Why does the Astros beat get trash writers? I think the last semi-decent one was Zachary Levine?
Plus MLB explicitly said it didn't want teams talking about this issue... either supporting or coming out critical against it. Anyways, reporters don't need actual interviews to make stories. They just came off 2 days of analyzing wrinkles in shirts, confetti on chests, and trying to lip-read what Altuve was saying on his walk-off, all based on a tweet that was proved to be wrong.
Good to see everybody in and around the organization circling the wagons. It isn't as if they're gonna be given anything by groveling for forgiveness and kissing ass nationally. F**k em all, just concentrate on winning.
Yes!!! This gets me fired up!!! Just. Win. Nothing else matters. Well no banging on trash cans matters.
Its really sad watching Astros fan across the internet bash each other beliefs because of this cheating scandal. At the end of the day we all want one thing and thats our boys winning another championship. I think we can all agree we all have a different moral compass but were better then bashing each other and calling one another names. We all come from different backgrounds and upbringings so its okay that we dont neccesarily agree on everything. Lets just win another ring and shut the haters up.
This is why I hate media types: the expectation that they're owed whatever they want. Are players and coaches required to do pre and postgame interviews? If no, I'd skip every single one this year. If yes, I'd be as cold and stony as possible. In fact, continue that attitude the whole year in all aspects. No more visible celebrations (they were getting cringey anyway). No more big talk from idiots like Correa saying they're trying to build a dynasty right before they go out and choke away the World Series. Stay as silent as absolutely possible and just go out and let your play doing all your talking. Keep celebrations in the backrooms away from cameras. React to nothing. There are no niceties or concessions or anything you can do, guys, that will help to rehabilitate your image with the media that despises you and always has. Don't fall for that trap.
I disagree. Let them celebrate. Let them be who they are. They've stopped the electronic sign stealing, and they're still there best offense in the league. Dance, stare at the cameras. Don't change a thing, one way or the other, to pacify the media or the witch hunt of public opinion. If nothing they do will change the ugly narrative, they might as well have fun. A stoic team is the last thing I want to see from this group: it's simply not who they are.
4Life brother!! I'm not going to go into all the reasons why I think this whole controversy has been blown WAY out of proportion, but seriously I'm embracing the full on heel turn of this franchise, eff em all and just win. I don't care if the Astros are liked or not.
