In that, it was an attack on an American facility on American soil (the Embassy) You can't take it out of context from the 1979 occupation of the Embassy in Iran when American diplomats were held hostage for 444 days. The intent looked the same. This assassination is more akin to Yamamoto. I'm not personally saying it was a good idea, I can just see how some fire breathing Joint Chiefs probably saw it.
"I fully understand both sides of it. But I campaigned on the fact that I was going to bring our—our soldiers home, and bring them home as rapidly as possible,” Mr. Trump said" Oct 8, 2019
Lol.... Would Obama and Clinton also made a big fuss about withdrawing from Syria then redeploy troops to protect the oil? What’s the strategy here?
Obama withdraw from Iraq.... conservatives roast him... Obama kills various militia leaders with drone strikes.... conservatives roast him.... Remind me again, why it was bad for Obama and not for Trump from the conservative prospective?
And trump saying something offensive... https://www.snopes.com/ap/2018/11/20/trump-criticizes-war-hero-for-not-capturing-bin-laden-sooner/
Obama did not kill bin Laden. Trump did not kill Soleimani. Both of them made the right call and deserve credit for doing so. But these missions were carried out by our armed forces and our intelligence agencies. If there are any heroes that should be recognized in either of these two incidents, it would be people in the armed forces and the intelligence agencies and not the white house. I am pretty confident that President Trump agrees, but as I vaguely recall, the narcissist Obama and his cultish supporters tried to milk this into something that would arguably almost warrant a second Nobel Peace Price for him. It did in fact reach the realm of the absurd. It was so over the top that it was almost enough to make any reasonable person want to vomit.
What corner of the Twitter realm did you find to believe that people believe Obama deserved a Nobel prize for ordering the attack? Dear lord why not pay attention to he actual words from the presents themselves. Who is more self-grandizing?
trump has lied so often and about everything that no one can believe anything he says at this point. Couple that with the lies told by pompeii and the American people and the rest of the world have no choice to be skeptical of anything said. Heck... trump has spent the last two years denigrating the intelligence community (and on occasion, military leadership). So now he expects us to believe them? Heck, previously he claimed Suleimani killed "millions". Talk about "over the top". Today he claimed thousands.
I feel most sorry for the 18 year old eager Army and Marine grunts who probably are shortsighted and exited to get their combat action ribbons. They don't have the foresight to understand how upside down their lives are going to turn into in the next few years if this escalates.
And then 20 years from now, we can all reflect back at how it was a giant waste of time that killed thousands of unnecessary people.
