Black Monday is upon us. Current Openings: Redskins Panthers Giants Browns Potential Openings: Cowboys Jags Chargers
I read the reports of the entire Cowboys staff being let go, but now there's another report that it's not official... C'mon man, Garrett's time is up!
No one will give up a #1or #2 for BOB at this point. I would be giddy getting a #3 and the chance to target a coach with an IQ over 100.
Two weeks ago he was asked that question and he said he doesn’t want a GM because he would get upset when the GM wouldn’t do exactly what Jerry wanted. He said he has never had a GM and never will have one. So the answer is no... better chance of the Texans becoming a cutting edge franchise than the Cowboys having a GM. Hell I don’t think Jerry wants to fire Garrett because he does exactly what Jerry wants. I think there is close to a 50/50 chance Garrett is back with new assistants.
This is why some NFL coaches want no part of the Cowboys job you have unreal expectations and a guy who people feel isn't a good GM doing GM things just because he signs the checks.
Oh, he says the same thing every year, because he's asked about it every year. Of course he'll never change.
Despite that, I don't think there are a lot of coaches that would turn down an offer to coach the Cowboys.
That's what I'm afraid of...That is the worst possible outcome, and will mean the Cowboys will be ok with mediocrity forever!!! On a side note, who would come into the Cowboys HC job and be told what to do?
I have no special information on the Cowboys. As far as who would take the job? I would think it one be one of the following...... #1 Someone already in the organization that is used to having Jones makes decisions; #2 An assistant coach that has long wanted to be a HC and would agree to any restrictions just to get a shot; #3 A former coach that is desperate to get one last shot.
