Who said we survived? I'm a ghost that can type since I had a heart attack.....and died. I'm haunting Clutchfans from the grave.
The Rockets? I have no confidence in Houston football teams, 40+ years of being a fan has numbed me. However, I still like to see how things playout.....
My hope for AJ is to slow the game down when the Stros pitchers are in trouble. More pitching coach meeting at the mound, or Chirinos/Maldonado meeting with pitchers. The Dodgers play the 10th inning like it was the 1st inning.
Our hitters better start hacking at all those "invisible" fastballs right down the hear of the plate, get the early lead, relax Cole and not have him go deep in this game.
We can still win today without him, but Brantley's playoff bat is beyond worrisome. His zero XBH allows the infamous and rare "OBP higher than SLG" --- .182 vs .146 He has one RBI in 44 PA's The fact he was already mired in a pathetic slump entering the postseason doesn't help. Turn your playoff career around, Pro Hitter.
hoping he and springer are breaking out... only a matter of time. Brantley hit a rocket to first game 4 that turned into a DP. He also hit a blast to the warning track. His swing is looking better
So I never bought a World Series Champs hat, because I had purchased the World Series hat (which looks very similar to this) when we got into the world series. And I couldn't talk myself into buying a hat that was damn near identical for ~$35. So came across them on Amazon for $15. Just received it. Figured, yeah....it's 2 years old. But We witnessed something that most do not get to witness in their life time. A WS win.
Let's go get it tonight boys. My little one's first post season, let's hope they make it a memorable one for him.
Hopefully the early lead is big. I dont want Cole going deep into this if he doesnt have to. He is coming off a career high pitch count his last outing. Its not like his arm would fall off at this point, but if we do make it out of tonight, it would be best going forward.
Road teams win around 2/3rd's of game 5's in the divisional round. Sets up nicely these two days with 2 road teams already winning, so a home team is due.
I wouldn't really say the Astros wasted chances. They got shellacked in Game 3 and were never really in it. And Game 4, the bats didn't come alive til it was too late(plus they caught a lot of bad breaks). The Braves in Game 4. THAT was a wasted opportunity. And they paid the price in Game 5.
Not going to lie, I’m freaking out. Seeing what happened yesterday to the Braves and Dodgers is concerning. Does it have anything to do with how the Astros will perform? No. Just reminds me of what can happen. We all know Cole has been fantastic for a very long time. It’s another thing that worries me...law of averages and all that. I believe in this team, but I hate the feel of this series. The Rays are damn good and they’ve shown up in a big way. Just win.
