It says the league statement will come out shortly. They are probably are trying to find a way to capitulate to their Chinese masters without causing an outrage by the american fans.

As soon as it broke I said there was a high likelihood he would be fired because the Chinese play this game where they do terrible things and then when a business person calls them on it they don’t stop until the person is fired. At this point my understanding is that they have only suspended relations with the Rockets and yes they have asked for Daryl Morey to be fired. The Rockets are trying to work our other concessions with the Chinese but neither side has flinched. Yes there is a real chance Morey could be fired but as of last night concessions were the strategy.

Hopefully Morey won't be forced to read a statement saying something like "I was wrong. The Hong Kong protesters are wrong. Trump and other US politician's criticism of China is wrong. Long live the people's republic of China" like someone in a hostage tape.
