We’ve already gone through decades of fruitless efforts to do anything. Those other non-wall efforts have been totally ineffective. I’m fine with trying a wall. Not a wall covering every foot of the border but a wall.
I want a beautiful wall I can take a vacation to and gaze at during sunset -- I do not want an ugly rusted fence which is exactly what we are getting (on our own dime btw).
I have and the numbers you posted are bogus. Evidently you mistakenly think asylum seekers are illegals.
Please share then. Also, we’re talking about decades of this activity. Not just since it became in vogue to claim “asylum” in the last 24 months, a total racket - additionally, asylum seekers are frequently illegally entering the country. Just because you have the intent to claim asylum once you enter the United States doesn’t mean you didn’t illegally enter the country.
I guess the ol defenders of trump aren't even gonna discuss the merits of whether it is acceptable/legal for trump to usurp the role of congress and move the money for his vanity project? Thanks for electing this idiot.
Oh boy, that was so hard, the top 3 google hits from the search: "how many illegal entries across southern border" (BBC not sure why the link is populating a video) How many people are crossing the border illegally? It's impossible to say for certain, but US Border Patrol says it has made 688,375 southwest border apprehensions since October 2018. The previous US fiscal year there were 303,916, according to US Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The number fell dramatically in President Trump's first year but rose again last year. The number of migrants apprehended at the border surged in May to the highest level since 2006, with 132,887 detained - including 11,507 unaccompanied children. It was the first time that detentions had exceeded 100,000 since April 2007. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/03/05/us/border-crossing-increase.html More than 76,000 migrants crossed the border without authorization in February [2019] https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/stats/sw-border-migration In July, 71,999 people were apprehended between ports of entry on the Southwest Border, compared with 94,908 in the month of June and 132,870 in May. In FY18, a total of 396,579 individuals were apprehended between ports of entry on our Southwest Border. I guess you should write the NYT, BBC and CBP.gov and let them know they are just parroting right wing talking points.
Most of the asylum seekers are turning themselves in at ports of entry. Please use the internet that you spoke about. https://www.khou.com/article/news/s...ntry-to-file-their-asylum-claim/285-565877310 https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2018/6/5/17428640/border-families-asylum-illegal
Neither of these articles speak to how many people are apprehended illegally entering the country. Literally, pointless articles to link.
Because lots of people aren't apprehended... these are just the number of those who were apprehended...
Meanwhile, the military family members at this base will lose their new middle school to help pay for trump's vanity wall...
Well, it looks like moscow mitch worries more about middle schools than trump's vanity wall... when he is running for re-election and the school is in kentucky...
Oh so Mitch will save his own but who gives a **** about the rest of the country. These selfish GOP pricks don't care for anything but themselves

All the stuff being build look like the same fencing that previous administrations have built. We were promised something much grander. Something so tall that he cartels cannot launch drug packages over using catapults and going deep underground to prevent tunnelling and such things..
