Reminds me of old man Bush when talking about the recession: “Things are getting better - I can feel it.”

Is there any news or talk about whether we are pursuing a new GM?

    Smart thinking by BOB again.

That way there are lots of people BOB can point at if things don't go well.... important for BOB to make sure there are not definitive duties so the proper people get praise and blame.

I'm guessing we'll be hearing a lot of "leaks" concerning Matt Bazirgan and James Liipfert this season.

Just to follow up on the Texans’ reconfigured operation—it’s pretty clear that it’s Bill O’Brien’s show in Houston now, and that, for the time being, everything will run through him in a set up that probably won’t be too unlike New England’s. Meanwhile, chief negotiator Chris Olsen will oversee the cap, director of player personnel Matt Bazirgan will oversee pro scouting, college scouting director James Liipfert will oversee (yup) college scouting, and EVP Jack Easterby will continue to be a backstop to ensure the football side of the organization is aligned, among his other duties. This also underscores that the GM search of June was Nick Caserio-or-bust (although I think O’Brien liked New England college scouting director Monti Ossenfort as a GM candidate, too).

LMFAO At BOB having the same level of control that Coach Belichick

Bill Belichick has won 6 Super Bowls as a Head Coach. He had appeared in a record 9 Super Bowls. He has won COY three times. He is widely considered the great coach in football history regardless of level.

Bill OBrien has lost three playoff games and won one (against the Raiders back up QB).

THAT'S NOT TRUE, BRIAN. It wasn't their backup, it was their 3rd stringer.......

You wouldn't be saying that if we had gone on to hire Caserio. Unfortunately it was botched horribly but doesn't change the fact that Cal fired his GM after one year to go after someone widely considered to be an upgrade. Inept maybe? Ya I wouldn't argue against that. But this was as an aggressive of a move we have seen from this franchise IMO.
