It probably won't be the worst trade they make but in retrospect look how stupid the D. Lo trade looks just two years later. If Anthony Davis gets injured and then shrinks under the media pressure this trade will look just as silly in two years. What'd the lakers get for D.Lo again, it may be the sole reason Kuz wasn't involved in the trade
You really think? The team sucked for long time and yet ad wanted to be there? You cant say that about pretty much any team like sacramento or charlotte et al
Amigo many of us have been saying lakers would get davis and be top 3-5 team. Need a more current hot take. The more unexpected event was durant going out for a whole season and the knicks situation with him. Also with thompson out this also make gsw with green-curry more of a 3 /4 seed than a shoe in 1. Wide open west but looks like this 1) gsw (shaky) 2) lakers 3) clips 4) rockets defense is impregnable
Same here. It’s a guards league and unless the Lakers also add an elite one then an aging LeBron and AD shouldn’t scare anyone.
He couldn’t win without Wade or Kyrie helping to break down the defense. At 35 and coming off a groin injury with all his miles he could go downhill in a hurry. If the Lakers add Kawhi then yep it’s all over. As Rockets fans we need to hope Kawhi stays in Toronto, Durant goes to NY and Butler stays in Philly. Then running it back should give us a very good chance.
Or isn't that they couldn't win without him breaking down the defense? But regardless, i mean, Davis is the best player he ever played with aside for Wade (which i'm not sure was still in his prime when they played together), much better than Irving and Bosh/Love, and fits like a glove with him cause he can both pick&roll and pick&pop, that's going to be hard to stop. And fwiw i would love to see Lebron suck but realistically i still expect him to be a top 3/5 player in the league in the upcoming season. Lakers are about to have two top 10 players in the league and a top 15/20, we might have a better supporting cast if we stay the same as today cause PJ, Clint and Gordon should be better than Kuzma and what they'll eventually get with the room, exception, but in terms of star power they'll definitely better than us.
Ummm people forget LeBron averaged 28 9 and 8 on 51% shooting. Even if he's aging he's still a top 5 player.
LeBron was pathetic defensively this season. Teams were going at him not to tire him out, but to exploit his shitty D. Even Harden was never that bad defensively. Offensively though, yeah LeBron is still great.
Woj just said the trade would be executed on 7/6, meaning LA won’t have max space for someone else. But can’t they still get there if Davis waives his trade kicker? Cap experts?
They basically got Kyle kuzma for dlo, which is not a bad trade. Kuzma has a higher ceiling than dlo so I'm not sure why the media and everyone on here keep saying the Lakers got fleeced and are idiots for making a bad trade. Also it cleared cap space by getting rid of the mozgov contract which helped them land LeBron and clear cap space. Now with the Davis trade they even have room for close to another max. Media just like their talking points.
At the same time tho ad will be the best player he has played with tho. Dont let ad not being able to carry a team by himself fool u....kyrie can't dont that either we see.
They swapped D.Lo with Kuzma, got rid of Mozgov albatross contract and also got Brook Lopez, that was definitely a good trade if not great if you're not a big fan of D.Lo. Although tbf, nobody expected Kuzma to be as good as he has been so far.
Hmm why did you basically reply with everything I just said? I was responding to all the uniformed people who thought the Lakers have up DLo for nothing.
effectively, LAL packaged D Lo and a bad Mozgov contract and got Brook Lopez and Net's first round pick the following year, which turned out to be Kuzma. remember, when he was in LAL, D Lo exhibited bad work habits. after being traded, he came to his senses and started to take the NBA seriously
