Apples and Oranges. KG was all about winning and AD, from what I’ve seen, is after building up his brand. Also Ainge was able to grab Ray Allen in his prime. There’s nothing left in the cupboard for Ainge if he gives up both Tatum and Brown for AD.
Haven’t heard that but I guess they’re doing a S&T with Rozier for Conley? Horford AD Hayward Conley I mean that’s a good team on paper but that team definitely won’t last 82 games.
With which salary though? Cause even if Irving bolts they have no cap space, so they're forced to match salaries in any trade. Let's say they get Davis with Tatum, Brown and a filler like Baynes, that leaves them with: Horford Davis Hayward Smart Rozier (who needs to be resign though) ...plus guys in rookie scale contracts like Yabusele, Ojeleye, Williams...how are they going to match Conley's contract? Doesn't seem a credible scenario to me...
With injury and expiring contract, Ingram has little value. If I were Pelicans, I don't want Ingram. I want: Kuzma Ball 4th pick (draft day) 2 Future unprotected first. Pelicans trade 27 million dollars for 17 million. Now Pelicans have 27 million cap room to sign D’Angelo Russell or any other good player. Renounce all free agents except rookie contracts. Starters: Holiday Russell Zion Kuzma Bench: 4th pick Ball deal to Suns for a rookie contract and 6th pick. Deal Lakers 2 future unprotected first for a good player.
Conspiracy alert: the NBA is bringing LeBron and the Lakers back into contender status by giving them Anthony Davis. For the Hornets to allow this, the NBA controlled the outcome of the lottery to gift them Zion. So essentially the Hornets will receive Zion, the #4 pick and whoever else from the Lakers for Anthony Davis and maybe even the massively underrated Jrue Holiday. Evidence: not much, but David Griffin was hired by the Hornets and given complete control of the team and LeBron and Rich Paul brazenly directing the entire situation before our eyes without any consequences.
