Never gonna complain about draft picks in the MLB draft. It’s such a crapshoot the majority of the time. Especially late in the first round. I am excited that he essentially enters our system as the highest rated and most “prolific” catching prospect we have.
Korey Lee was number 83 on my personal board. At best, he’s Mike Napoli in his prime. At worst, maybe another Evan Gattis?
After reading that article on player development, I’m excited to find out what it is the Astros see in this guy that makes them think they can turn him into a player worthy of drafting in the first round.
Crazy ass Jeff Luhnow, gotta love him. I know nothing about Lee but you gotta love that he fills a need.
I don’t know who any of these players are but I guarantee there’s more than one team out there wondering if they should have taken another look at this Lee fella.
Lee's stats: 50 games, .338/.419/.626, 15 HR, 57 RBI, 34 R, 26 BB (2 HBP), 42 K, 1.045 OPS, 1 SB, 15 SB allowed, 12 CS
Pitcher ERA? Would be interesting to see, though that's more on the pitcher. Looks like he's waaaaay better than his consensus rankings. And plenty of draft left to unearth some gems. Of course we'll never know, but I wonder how far he'd have fallen had we not taken him at 32.
How ****ing stupidly lame. I don't stand by my rankings, I obviously made a mistake because the professionals did something differently than me. Therefore...ooops.
