Hopefully, but the problems are more with the pitching than the hitting. Springer will be back soon, as will Altuve. Tucker has also been red hot after a slow start. I want not one, but TWO starters at the deadline. Also, the farm is really weak with SP. Corbin was on fire in AAA, just give him more time to bring his command back. Excellent curveball, fastball needs command, as said. Whitley's sharp decline is alarming. Maybe salvage his value?
I commented a couple weeks ago about Simmons the Angels SS seeming like a pretty good dude, the WS SS Anderson seems like an *******.
Agreed. I do not trust our starting pitching. JV is solid. Miley has been decent. Cole dissapointing. Peacock is ok. But I don’t see that translating to the post season. Who might be available. Wonder what it would take for Marcus Stroman. He has a fire about him.
We're certainly seeing the White Sox test out the small ball we've been discussing a lot in terms of the Astros lately.
Heh, Doug Drabek as the Name That Astro. That is smack dab in the middle of my Astros fandom as a child. I can remember just about every player on that '93 team. I recall my dad thinking the Drabek and Swindell acquisitions were a terrible idea considering how much was spent on them. I remember seeing Drabek hit a home run in the Dome.
Heh. Probably the way he's been playing tonight. I mean I wouldn't say it's worked out for them, but they haven't needed it either. Maybe it's time for an all-bunt-and-steal bottom of the 9th rally for the Astros.
I wonder when we are going to get an honest answer about Forest Whitley... he is hurt or he has off the field issues. He was bombed again tonight... era approaching 13
Clearly, the Astros over the past two days have been saving their sox-beating power for the red variety.
Thank u, next. Corbin will always have the Mother's Day gem, but time for more work back in the minors. He's been or best MiLB pitcher thus far. Question: Who replaces him? Whitley ain't gonna be any better. Sneed? Edit: Also, Boyd had a nice gem today. I want him at the deadline.
