Book was just released today. I have only had a chance to browse through it, but I love what I see so far. Lots of Rockets-related content in here. Morey, Harden, and the Ryan Anderson contract, and an unnamed Rockets online fan board get a lot of space. Is anyone else here getting this book? If not, I recommend it. Link for reference.
I heard him being interviewed on the radio a few days ago, and I thought he said there was an entire chapter talking about Harden, but not sure. He did go into the entire "three point shot" movement and thought eventually there would be some new rules instituted in the game. He did mention trying to get rid of the corner 3 -- or at least not making that a 3 since it's such a "short" shot. I think I'll be buying this book.
Yeah there is a chapter on Harden. Lots of good visualizations and interesting artwork to go along with the statistical analysis.
If you've heard of the term "urban sprawl", it's basically talking about the ever-expansion of cities via suburban and exurban growth. Sprawlball basically means how the entire NBA is starting to gear everything more and more around the three-point line and, as a result, so much of the NBA is evolving into shots, defenses, etc. being further and further away from the basket (the suburbs of the NBA).
Zach Lowe had him on his podcast yesterday to talk playoffs and the book. Will definitely be picking that one up.
