Not something you want out of a member of Congress, but that is what happens when an inhuman is elected President.
I had hopes for Crenshaw, but it is blatantly obvious that he is just another right wing talk radio facebook meme spouting sycophant. It's very disappointing.
Bigoted, not racist right? Since I'm assuming you are going to so state "Islam is a religion not a race"? It was 100% bigoted to assume that Omhar making a point that innocent Muslim Americans were blamed for 9/11 by many other Americans and right wing news sources like Fox News meant that she thought "9/11 good". It's such a stretch and so god damn pathetic. I don't give a **** that he's a Navy Seal. It doesn't give him some magic right to determine who's American and who's not. He's not the gatekeeper and using his service as a prop to justify it is disgusting. The only thing that Crenshaw proved was that when you are a direct combat mos, you find ways to dehumanize the people who have to fight and that ability to dehumanize carries over to civilian life.
Why is she above criticism? This b**** talks crap everyday about someone. Crenshaw never called her unamerican. His tweets were tame. You defend anti-semitic comments all of the time but label the Crenshaw tweets as bigoted? This is the definition of hypocrisy.
I never have once defended an anti-semetic comment. And she definitely is not above deserved criticism.
The difference is pretty obvious. There aren't thousands of Jews migrating here every year from a religious dictatorship where they practice an orthodox interpretation of the law. There ARE thousands and thousands of Muslims migrating (or attempting to) from such countries. Countries where they do stone people for adultery, cut their heads off for various religious crimes, subjugate women, etc. Surveys of that population shows surprisingly high support for those types of laws, even in America. That naturally lends itself to be used to fear monger. You can argue back that those groups aren't trying to make that the law HERE as right wing folks claim, that they assimilate better than people think, that American Muslims become more moderate with every generation just like American Baptists, etc. etc. It's still disingenuous to say "Gee, the Quran is just as problematic as the Old Testament why don't Americans have a problem with Jews and Fundamentalist Christians!!!" The circumstances are extremely dissimilar. Oh, and Muslims aren't White Europeans so that hurts too lol.
People were offended by her dual loyalty comments. You dismissed those as fine. Post #160. It doesnt matter that you werent offended.
So are you offended by Trump's dual loyalty comments when he went to a GOP Jewish dinner and said not once, but multiple times "YOUR prime minister" to a group of Jewish American citizens? He seems to agree. Also there is a specific subset of Jewish Americans who only ad fuel to the fire by having a upper middle class lifestyle in the US and decide to poke the Hornets nest by migrating to what many people consider illegal settlements in the West Bank. Why? Why go out of your way to make things worse?
You said 2/3rds? I'm thinking you could argue that maybe 3 of them would be unconstitutional if they were turned into laws. The Ten Commandments also doesn't prescribe a legal penalty for blasphemy. The argument, right or wrong, that people have with Sharia is that they believe it specifically orders them to be in opposition to the Constitution.
The old testament absolutely does prescribe mortal punishments by man for blasphemy. You might make an excuse that that Christians don't follow the rules of the New Testament. But Judaism does. Fortunately most Jewish people are very secular. It has a lot to do with economic success. Hence why Muslim Americans are seen as the most secular group of Muslims on the planet because they coincidentally live the most comfortable socioeconomic lives relative to other Muslims.
Yes the ten commandments are the base laws and throughout the old testament such as Deuteronomy, the punishments for breaking those unconstitutional laws are prescribed: “If your brother, the son of your mother, your son or your daughter, of your bosom, or your friend consent to him or listen to him, nor shall your eye pity him, nor shall you spare him or conceal him; but you shall surely kill him" Literal Jewish texts prescribe death for apostasy. We don't see it in action today thank goodness but I'm sure if the world Jewish community destabilized economically, they would fall to their base religious laws.
Again, you said 10 commandments, that's what I took issue with. In the next post I talked about the difference regarding the Old Testament vs Islam in current practice and why this comparison is ridiculous.
Why is it ridiculous? First, there are plenty of Christians who selectively chose to follow the old testament and want to establish law based on it such as how to deal with homosexuals. Second, Judaism doesn't have a new book to fall to. This is their book and those laws for blasphemy are part of their religion. The reason why you don't see it being practiced is because of secularism inspite of religion which can be seen also with Muslim Americans. How many Muslim Americans are asking for death for apostasy besides a handful of extremists?
