You have done this (editing someone's quote in the quote box) more than once. Its not funny and its extremely dishonest, reflecting poorly on you and whatever argument you think you are making.

I disagree. The use of "fify" lets everyone know exactly what is going on, so it is not dishonest. And for those of us who appreciate a good laugh at the expense of those who are engaging in inconsistency, contradiction, or hypocrisy, the use of such a device is hilarious. I also disagree that it reflects poorly on anyone (well, maybe it reflects poorly on those who are being inconsistent, contradictory, and/or hypocritical). @biff17

The "fify" wasn't what I was referring to. This was:

He manually edited the quote by the poster, then replied "fify".

Ahh, so you did see what I was referring to. And while you can say "fixed it for you" type replies are inappropriate, at least they clearly show that you are editing their post, and thus are not dishonest. But I will stop doing "fixed it for you" posts (since I must have done it, what, once"). But editing the post without indicating it is definitely dishonest.

Why am I not surprised the person who tried to portray himself as a "moderate Democrat" should also find someone being dishonest with misquoting others posts "hilarity."

If you use the search function and type in FIFY, you will see this is done quite often by both sides here. I have no issues with it as long as the FIFY is used to clarify the quote is not original but if it bothers some people perhaps @justtxyank could provide guidance.

It works when it's funny, and I can appreciate satire. But when it's done just to change what someone is saying as it was in this instance, it's rude.

Again, I have no issue with "fify" (or if rush supporters want to type "mega dittos" ;) ) but I was referring to the editing of the post he was responding to. Its dishonest... at a time folks complain about "fake news".

There is so much irony in this post.

You calling another poster contradictory and hypocritical.

Quoting someone's post and adding "FIFY" is perfectly acceptable as part of an edit, whether it is meant to be funny, chiding, satirical, ironic, etc.

However, if people are quoting you and intentionally misrepresenting what you are saying and then responding to that misrepresentation without the "FIFY" qualifier or some other indicator that they've changed your words, please report it.

Thank you for the clarification. @Sweet Lou 4 2 and @NewRoxFan were both a little upset with someone for this issue in this thread.
