That totally sucks. I hate it when a guy gets cut due to injury. He didn't do anything wrong, yet his career is most likely over. Meanwhile, Hunt gets picked up by the Browns. Such is the NFL, I guess.
it was a longshot for them to pay him $14 mil next season anyway. maybe he returns on a cheap deal after he recovers
Very understandable move. Hope he gets a chance to play again but he never really fit the offense. Not like this guy would Spoiler
Hard pass. And Thomas did fit the offense imo. The running game really picked up when he arrived don’t underestimate what a good blocking WR can do to a rushing attack and he was reliable when we did target him.
Oh yeah, I totally get the business / financial aspect of it all. It just sucks because DT wanted to prove he had something left in the tank, and now he might not get a chance to prove it for anyone in the NFL.
This was going to happen regardless of the injury. But the injury is definitely a huge blow to the chances of bringing him back on a cheaper deal.
Random question, but who pays for his physical rehab and everything now? Is he on the hook for all that, or do the Texans have to help out with some of it?
This doesn't mean he's not a Texan when the season begins. This was a no brainer. They can still bring him back when healthy and with a smaller cap number. There was no way they were going to keep him with that same salary.
Generally the player will hook up with one of these guys that owns a gym (like AP), and they'll let him use their facilities to rehab. I'm sure the player pays for whatever equipment fees, additional trainers, extra resources, etc. that he needs to help move his rehab along. It also helps the gym owner with marketing, and branding if you've got some professional athletes in your facility working out.
So he was driving around hilly as Denver on a torn achilles, either his wife is lazy or his side chick is lazy, one of them is supposed to protect the gravy train smh
70 in a 30 and you flip your car with no other cars on the road, it wouldn't surprise me if it comes out that he was driving under the influence
