Let him go. One so we can start looking for a replacement, two because there's almost no chance he will finish out next season at this point. Sucks for D'Eriq King. We finally got to see what he can do with a competent coach.
Quarterback Quinten Dormady is transferring to Central Michigan, he announced today on Twitter. Dormady appeared in only one game at Houston, attempting five passes, and redshirted the season after transferring from Tennessee in April. He started the first five games for Tennessee in 2017 before being replaced by Jarrett Guarantano. Dormady said he's 100 percent healthy and will have one year of eligibility for new CMU coach Jim McElwain in 2019
Not sure if this is reliable... https://thespun.com/news/art-briles-son-is-reportedly-leaving-for-a-major-assistant-job/amp Duarte nor Berman has reported it so idk
(From 4 days ago...) https://www.tallahassee.com/story/s...es-fsu-welcomes-football-recruits/2313331002/ All signs continue to point to Taggart bringing in Briles, 36, as his next offensive coordinator. Those same signs continue to suggest that Briles – currently the associate head football coach, offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Houston – will bring at least one assistant coach with him. _____________________________________________ With how this (dirty) game works, coach stays on through signing day and leaves(or is fired) in the following day(s). Early signing period is tomorrow so probably hear something in the next week or so.
Hate to see him go but hope he makes FSU pay through the nose to get him. In the meantime I hope the powers that be work diligently to get us a new head coach that will get us back on track again. Applewhite to me is not the best long term solution for us.
The only reason we had any success this year was because of the offense. Briles leaving will hurt. Applewhite has one more year before he is fired. I am looking to 2020. We will have a new and hopefully better coach.
What kind of coordinators is someone like Applewhite going to hire? Who wants to work for someone whose future is uncertain? What a mess.
