Bobby Sura and Rafear Alston. Doing the gangsta 3's. They were the original 3 and D and the Warriors just stole from Sura and Alston
Those guys Hate just to Hate it’s pitiful tbh. But...... I’m with you Melo is about to ball, key reason James Harden is a true MVP who makes everyone’s game on the offensive end easier. If you can dribble atleast 2x and shoot a jumper you can avg 20ppg playing off him. We know melo can do this and much more even at age 34. Look at what he did for sorry ass Parsons? Or Eric Gordon and even CP3 to an extent. Melo is a better scorer than all those guys. He’s about to have more wide open looks then he’s ever had aside from the Olympics. What I’m most excited about is not the open 3s. Everyone gets open 3s playing with harden, cp3 with MDA at the helm. I’m excited about Melo putting the ball on the floor 2-3 dribbles and pulling up for a 12-15 footer because the defense is scrambling to him because of the attention harden draws when he drives the lane. He’s going to feast on that all game long. It’s going to be so deadly. I’m calling it now Melo will avg 22ppg this year and shoot at least 55% true shooting percentage. I don’t think he’ll get to the line enough to get to 60% (hope I’m wrong) Harden is no Russ and melo and cp3 know this. That’s why they both were itching to get to the rockets last summer, it just took Melo an extra year to make it. Now he’s here with the best offensive coach maybe ever it’s about to go down. One more defensive wing to this roster and MDA and Melo will have the ultimate redemption story in Houston when the hold up that Larry O’Brien trophy.
I see your point. If Ennis performs, then I'm sure he'd definitely get his shot. But at this point, I'm not sure MDA benches Melo. Even before the season starts? I really doubt that unless that is what was discussed during SL. Tucker definitely has to stay on the floor now. Hopefully Ennis steps up and locks down mofos.
Honestly I don't know why people don't see from the playoffs that offense is our weak point. Our defense was best in the league during playoffs. I don't think with Ariza gone that we got weaker, i just think we shifted our weight around.
Let D'Antoni worry about rotations. What does it even matter what paper position will Melo and Tucker have? both will be standing in corners on offense with some sets on the low post running for Melo additionaly. Remember the thing they tried with Joe Johnson that everybody was excited? That he would be another ISO weapon and basically our only low-post option for a given matchup? Yea we got Carmelo possibly greatest back-to-basket scorer of all-time. Even given his age basically what stops us from being unguardable is better 3-point shot from PJ Tucker and free-throws from Capela but even GSW has Donkey without shot Let's sum it up: -3 HOF iso scorers -2 HOF playmakers/ballhandlers -4 Elite 3pt specialists(JH, CP, EG, Anderson) -2 Elite mid-range specialists(CP, Carmelo) -1 Elite slasher in Harden, and 2 great slashers in EG+Carmelo -Athletic defensive center who finishes like 120% around the rim -Defensive pitbull who can knock some 3pointers -3 on ball defenders on high level -6th man of the year -at least 2 instant scorers off the bench, if we counting Anderson possibly 3 -rookie guard with high upside I was worried after losing LMM+Ariza because i thought we wouldn't get fair return and soon be losing Capela. But it turned out great and Im not even talking about Ennis + MCW yet Now think of what D'Antoni did with Amare Stoudemire + Nash + some Barbosas. Look above. Be calm.
Which is exactly why I said borderline. You realize you don't need to defend him with every single negative post made on the board right? Just sit back and let his play do all the talking for you.
If I had to make my list(based on overall effectiveness, not just skill), I would say it's: 1.Hakeem 2.Kareem 3.Shaq 4.Jordan 5.Duncan
