Neither baserunner exhibited outstanding effort or instincts on that play, no. The only way Marwin could know there was an out made at first was if he heard or saw one of the coaches. I don't believe he ever looked at Pettis. A little luck never hurts.
As Buck also stated, Yuli wasn't busting it down the line, but that would have been on Marwin had he not scored. It just seems like one of those things that should be second nature to players.
It's you. There are other guys I would rather have up in clutch situations, but Altuve isn't a big problem in that regard, though I wish he would be a bit more selective in those ABs.
Altuve was absolutely brililant in the ALDS and ALCS but he wasn't himself during the World Series. Thankfully George went Bananas. Altuve seems to be pressing at times in 2018, which is very bizarre to see given he's now a Champion.
Would def feel most comfortable with Bregman and Yuli in high leverage spots. Is Altuve or Correa #3?
Let me rephrase....when's the last time Altuve came through with men on when we needed runs and weren't already out in the lead? From what I've been seeing, it's been out after out after out. He seems to regress a little bit. Surely, I'm not the only one seeing this. I'm not talking about last season.
Marwin had a ****ing 5 foot lead on that, not sure what that was all about. Thankfully Verhagen decided to throw a 55 foot breaking ball. A little luck never hurts. He has struggled recently with it, you are absolutely right. Been chasing pitches. Whether that continues or not I have no idea. Those 2 were the ones I was thinking of, for sure.
